does anybody have some information about this guitar? I have a custom balladeer 1612 Ovation. I was looking for the year of building and some specifications at the Ovation site but this guitar was not in the program anymore.
Please send me some info if you have,
thanks, Onno

Re: ovation custom balladeer 1612
The first digit is always '1'. The second digit is type of guitar: 6 = acoustic electric roundbacks. The third digit denotes bowl depth on acoustic and acoustic electrics: 1 = standard bowl, 5 13/16" deep. The fourth digit denotes mode, for the first eight acoustic models: 2 = Deluxe Balladeer.
Furthermore is the range of serial number between 315001-339187, then is your guitar made in 1984.
You can read it under www.ovationguitars.com when you click on 'cracking the Ovation code'.
