Howdy, I recently purchased a LoPrinzi LM-15 and was wondering what year it is? The neck-block is stamped 3351. It has A LoPrinzi on the headstock face and T LoPrinzi on the label. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
1976
I had this guitar custom made in Clearwater, FL in the spring of 1983. I have to sell it. Let me know if anyone is interest. I’m in Cleveland, Ohio. 216.221.7333. Call if you like or text.
Hi All,
I have decided to keep this CM-36. It is no longer for sale. Thanks.
I have an Augustino CM-36 Custom, made in 1983 in Clearwater, Florida made and signed by Augie. Mahogany sides/back.
I lived in Seminole, and I would spend time at the shop in clearwater.
I had this guitar made for me, Augie and I picked out the wood for it, I stopped by once a week and watched it built.
It was completed May/June 1983. I had to sell it to a friend 5 years later, I was broke.
I bought it back in 2013. My friend beat it up pretty good, crack in top,, crack on side.
Had the cracks stablized, and 5 new frets placed, new saddle.
It aged very nicely, deep rich bottom end, and full loud sound.
My friend thought it was a D-28.
I’m selling it again, $1,200. I’m retired and have to reduce the herd.
I can send pictures. Live in Northern Ohio.
Jim
I recently acquired this thin line acoustic electric guitar made in Clearwater and signed Augie.
I mailed pics and questions to the factory, but no response.
Does anyone out there have any info on this guitar or know where I can look?
I have an F-20 I’d like to learn it’s history. No response from maker
Likely from the mid ’80’s or so. Serial # might help in narrowing that down. Clearwater FL has the resin body. I hear they are nice in tone. Check the FB group my contact info is below
For anyone looking for an Augustino Loprinzi guitar, I have one in which the interior label is signed: Augie, Augustino.
It was made in Clearwater, Florida prior to Augustino re-acquiring his name back from the corporation that had the rights to it.
At the moment is it is on the reverb.com site.
It was made in the late 70’s and is in an excellent condition.
For sale $1500. Good condition.

I own an LR-25 I bought back in 76, and at that time I was living in my van.
At one point the temps got down, and needless to say it sustained some finish cracks. (Wood is fine)
I’ve thought about having it refinished. Any pro or con thoughts?
Thanks for any input.
I would recommend not refinishing. I don’t think it will improve the tone and may be detrimental. It is quite common for these to have severe amount of finish checking. As long as it is not cracking areas of wood in top (center seam) or side and back, I would not consider refinish. It can be done and I have seen a few that were done well. Relatively little to be gained by doing the refinish. Better to spend the funds on a neck reset if needed.
Thanks for the post
Hello,
I recently saw an excellent condition Augustino Augie F-22.
It is similar to an Ovation style guitar with a plastic (assuming)
Rounded back.
I cannot find any information on this model. Any idea
of its value?
Thanks!
I have an F-20 sounds so good…would love to know its history
Likely price is about 300 or so, Ovation round back, I think it is a mesh of some sort with a resin applied.
Good luck, let me know how the tone is.
AR-38, really nice woodset and build for sale. Price $900.00 Link below should show pictures. Contact me if you want to see other pictures. Has LR baggs soundhole M1 pickup.
Couple of previously repaired top cracks that are stable and have never given me any issue. Tone is very nice. Very thin flat neck profile. Schaller tuners.

Could anyone definitively comment on what the difference between LoPrinzi L,A, and V models is? Is it a chonological difference, or actually a physical or dimensional one?
Thanks for any help!
Ben
There are old models dimensions charts on the Facebook Augustino LoPrinzi Guitars and Ukulele page. Imaged by members. Fro both the L, V, and A models.
Roughly:
I forgot to mention that there is also a chronological difference in labeled guitars.
A LoPrinzi first ’73 – ’75-ish?
LoPrinzi ’75 – ’80-ish?
Augustino ’75-ish? – 2000’s
I think the L models were first, then maybe the VR and VM shortly after?
All A models were under the Augustino label, best I know.
Depth of body changes a bit on model to model
Sizes V: lower bout 14 1/2″
L: 15 – 15 3/4″
A: slightly larger than the L models and shoulders squared a bit more.
LoPrinzi labeled
A LoPrinzi labeled
are L and V models
A models are Augustino labeled guitars.
L and V models have different body sizes, rounded shoulders of upper bout
A models are slightly larger than L models, more squared shouldered than the A LoPrinzi and LoPrinzi models.
I have had this one since 2004. Was in excellent condition when i got it and have put some really nice touches to it. Looking to see if there is serious interest for this classic.
I recently came into some funds, that I want to use in purchasing an Augustino LoPrinzi guitar. If any are available, please contact me @ [email protected] or by cell 415-286-1318
Thanks

Seeking anything from this time period. Thanks and a Happy New Year to all who love a Lo Prinzi instrument.
I have a few guitars for sale as well. LR-15, AR-12, LM-12, Custom AR-38 in Koa.
I have a lovely Augustino LoPrinzi AR-38 Dreadnaught #0075 Made in Rosemont, NJ signed “Augie”
It’s a fine hand made instrument comparable I’m told to a Martin dreadnaught with herringbone top trim, Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony bridge, mahogany neck, with a signed label, that I bought in Philadelphia back in 1975. It play’s great and frets are hardly worn.
What’s it worth “out there” if I let her go?
I’m curious to know if your AR-38 is still available. Also, where are you located? I might be interested in looking at it.
Hey I see your interested in the ar-38 I have one with the series number 0992 in very good condition.Might be interested in selling. In the Philadelphia area Thank you Vito
I am interested in finding out about a Loprinzi 12 string guitar that belonged to my deceased husband. It is signed by a T Loprinzi. Numbers inside are AR 15-12w. I am thinking about selling it but dont know anything about it. Thank you in advance.
Usually the AR designation, would be one signed by Augie. You sure it reads AR 15 and not LR 15? Value would be around $1000 approx most likely. Year built would be sometime after 1976 or so. Is there a # stamped on the inside into the neck block? If it is signed T LoPrinzi what if any label / logo is on the headstock.
I have a Acoustic Guitar by Augustino Loprinzi AR-38-12 Serial # 0534. Does anyone know what year this guitar would be? Is this Guitar a classic guitar or a elite series. Trying to find out what year it is. Thank You! I am selling one of these guitars and think I may have some information wrong. Including the price. Anything would help. I emailed Donna Loprinzi and hope she responds as well.
I would think the guitar was built in 1978, first year in Clearwater, FL.
I purchased mine for $850 and it is in very good condition. Bought from original owner.
I am a volunteer at an animal rescue in AZ. We had a Loprizi 12 string acoustic guitar donated to our rescue. We would like to know what we have and if it has value. I can send pictures if given an e-mail. Can you help us?
Please send me a few pictures of your guitar and a picture of the label. I have one that is a 12 string as well. I may be able to tell you the value.
my email is [email protected]
Happy to help with some detail. Feel free to contact me.
Can you give more detail on the donated guitar. What does the label say? Where built. Any # stamped on the inside into the neck block. Approx value would be $500 – $1500 depending on condition, model, year built.
Hope this helps a little.

I have a beautiful LOPRINZIthat I believe would be considered an OM.. I am interested in selling only because I am moving from three nice guitars to one extremely nice. If anyone is interested in pictures and specs please email me [email protected]
I was lucky enough to aquire a LR 50 today from a friend in a trade. He told me it was a 1973 and was close with the builder. It plays nice but could use the truss rod adjusted…Neck may have a slight bow…Was wondering if anyone could give me info about this guitar…Wood? collectability? Value…thanks
I worked with Augie in the barbershop in Flemington NJ as a teenager and have an original he gave me prior to my joining the Navy. Needs a little work but still playable.
Give me a call if you are thinking of selling 4152861318 or an email
Hi Bob, I remember you from H.C.H.S. I was Class of 67. Mark Levine, whose parents apparently owned the building the shop was in, took me to see the shop. I finally bought my first Augustino 9 years ago and it is a steel string CM-36. I really love it. Now I am beginning classical guitar lessons and would like to find one of Augie’s to play. Is yours a classical? Let me know what you have been up to all these years, and also tell me about the guitar, whether it is classical or not. All the best, Joy
I more than likely will have an interest in making an offer. I am still collecting them and playing them. If in need of repair, I have a great luthier in my area for bringing them back to life.
Especially interested in the early ones from Cane Farm days. Just drop me an email and I will respond.
Thanks
I have a LoPrinzi (I believe it is an LM or LR 6). I am the original owner and purchased it new in 1975. Birdseye maple body and mahogany neck. Good shape. A very unique sound, not too bright or dark, but rich in tone. I recorded with it in Nashville and other places and rarely play it since I toured in the early eighties. Original hard case. If you are interested, I can send photos or other detail. I plan on listing at Elderly Music in Northern Indiana or Gruen in Nashville. I never use this instrument and it is among many that I am tired of moving around the country when I only perform with my favorite 5 or 6 these days.
If you can contact me via email or phone, we can talk about the LM from ’75. My phone is listed below in this email list as well.
Thanks
John

Thank you

Thanks
John
Bought my LR15 in 1975 from Dean Markley, in Santa Clara, CA. It’s an “augie”, has his logo and signature on the label.
Also bought a Guild F-412.
I’ve played them both a ton, since then.
The LoPrinzi is maybe the most balanced sounding guitar I’ve ever played. All the way up the neck. Pitch is right on the money.
It has a nice deep bass, rich mids, and absolutely crystal clean highs.
You guys who have one of these, know what I mean.
Fortunately, I guess, I’ve never had a problem with the neck.
I recently put a set of Power Pins on it and it is amazing. Bumped up the volume without any distortion or loss of tone quality.
I’ve also got an ’85 D-28 Martin and the LoPrinzi is every bit its equal.
Guy who does my guitar work met Donna at the last show and had to tell her how nice my LR15 is. several of my musician buddies who’ve played mine have picked up their own.
I inherited a guitar for my grandfather which was given to him by Dean markley. It’s an LR15 has a signature on it but I’m not sure who’s it is, says T.Pol and I can’t make out the rest. Anyone have any ideas?
If you have one you are thinking of selling, please drop me an email. or call 415-286-1318
Just bought a loprinzi at-38 with the serial number 0992 it sounds unbelievable could anyone tell me what year it is Thank you
1982 or 1983 would be my best guess.
I am considering selling my Classical A LoPrinzi. It is Indian Rosewood and was purchased in May 1974. Numbered and signed. I believe the value is high from the research I have been doing. Are you still in the market? Happy Monday! Thanks!
Give me a call 4152861318 or an email [email protected]
Any interest in roundbacks? Ive got a lovely f24 I’d consider selling
Do you still have the Augie F24 you were thinking about selling? If so could you send me some pictures thanks Jeff
Send me some pictures to [email protected]
See if it is one I would want.
Thanks
So what is the serial # for yours? I have had some low # and some 4000 #.. All have a tone that is superior to just about another maker. I like to find them, get them fixed as needed and then send them back into the world. Had 10 at one time, now have 4 that I hold dear. Likely going to buy a few more if possible. The early early ones with the classical type build are usually exceptional, sometimes beat up. I have 3 that are custom builds, koa, mahogany, and EIR. Quality of the woods is wonderful, and they never go out of tune. Clarity of the trebles are filled with nuance.
Am looking for a Baptistown build at present and hopefully a classical model as a nylon non-dread size.
Hello,
I have an Augustino LoPrinzi AR-38 serial #0482 signed by Augie, guitar belongs to my father who bought it new. He has Parkinson’s and can no longer play, and unfortunately wants to sell it. I don’t currently have photos but can send by email soon. Condition is near perfec, located in Melbourne Beach, FL. If anyone is interested, please contact me at [email protected] or (321)505-0981 to make an offer.
Regards,
Farris
I have a Lm-15 signed by Augie LoPrinzi guitar, made in 1974 Rosemont NJ. Great guitar, sounds band plays awesome. If interested in buying please call me 919-633-7384 or email [email protected] I can send pictures.
I have a LoPrinzi LR-25 that I bought in a pawnshop in 1983. Serial Number 3487. Signed by T. LoPrinzi, label says “A LoPrinzi” made in Plainsboro NJ.
It’s fun to play. It has a very narrow neck and a nice tone – loud and bright. It’s rosewood and spruce, and looks identical to a D-28. I’d be grateful for any information that anyone could provide about this instrument.
I believe this instrument was built during the AMF era. This was also the period when AMF owned Harley Davidson. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Machine_and_Foundry Under Maark Corporation.
At the time I bought my LR-25 the distributor was selling Taylor and LoPrinzi. Since I was in Arlington VA, I bought the LoPrinzi. I love this guitar. Many have played it, and love it as well.
I had heard a rumor that Tom assisted Taylor into production as a consultant, but never read anything to verify that.
This was a “venture capital” effort by Maark. Tom was attempting to compete with Martin, as their quality was in decline and many other attempted to compete with Martin, including Mossman and Gurian. (Maybe not compete, but they saw an opportunity to build a better instrument).
Larry Coryell favored the LoPrinzi guitar, and was pictured on many LoPrinzi brochures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jYR8Ra2SIQ
There has been many references on the internet as to how hard it was for Augie to get his “name” back, from the Maark Corporation.
There’s alot of history about Tom and Augie… I’m sure you can easily find information.
Augie and his daughter, Donna are world class luthiers. I have a certain satisfaction knowing that Donna still builds instruments. Perhaps one day, I’ll buy one from her.
Hello,
I have a 2003 Pinnacle that I really love. I’m just mentioning this to join any conversation about Augustino LoPrinzi’s work.
The tone and volume of this guitar is the most balanced throughout the range of any guitar I have ever played.
John
I would buy another LR 20 if I can find one at a reasonable price.
215 805 0011
AMF/Maark took control of Loprinzi sometime back in the early 70’s (about 1973 I think). Augie left and opened a shop next door (had refused to sign a non-compete and hated the way they were building guitars). There he built guitars under the “Augustino” name. Tom stayed with AMF and they eventually killed the business in 1980. Augie later went to AMF and managed to get the family name back for a buck and a repair of a banjo for one of their big shots. The AMF product is not the same quality by a long shot, but Donna should be able to give you some insight.
I bought my LoPrinzi LM-15-12 back in 1980. Signed by T. LoPrinzi. I quit playing YEARS ago, so I’m going to part with my instruments and books. I’m starting to get information on what they are worth (my LM-15-12 and Silvertone Jupiter) and will soon get them to new homes. Just wondering if anyone is seriously interested in my LM-15-12. Very little wear, but has a small crack on the bottom end of the fingerboard due to some humidity problems between relocating for employment. I tried to contact LoPrinzi in Florida about any information they could give me about the guitar but they ignored all requests I sent them. There is no serial number on the label inside the guitar, only a number #4711 on the key envelope, but I still have the original sales receipt from Aspen Grove Sound in Rapid City, SD.
Thanks,
Richard
I just ran across a CM-36 Serial number 0336. Says Augustino on headstock and Baptistown New Jersey and signed Augie inside. Its in great shape. Mahogany Back and Sides with an ebony fingerboard, mahogany neck with Grover Tuners. Any idea what its worth. Its for sale.
I have a CM – 36 made app.1977,the tag inside says Rosemont. But I think it was Itactually made @ the Cane Farm Shop.
It is a Honduran Mahogany box (sides & back) the top is super – tight grain Sitka Spruce……..very nice.
African Ebony fingerrboard.
S/N 0126
Exceptional guitar, wouldnt trade it for the world.
My only regret was not having bought several of them “back then” when they sold for between 2& 3 hundred dollars.
the more it gets played the better it sounds!
So you have #0126–funny I should run into you–I’ve got #0128. I think I bought it summer 1976. Best guitar in the store at that time.
Can i ask if you’ve ever had the neck adjusted? Donna LoPrinzi recently told me it’s got a truss rod that would need a 3/8″ socket, but my luthier said it looks like it might not be a truss rod, too low in his estimation. Another site (for one for sale) mentions that they didn’t have a rod, and that his neck was reset. I wondered if you might have some first-hand experience of units from that date range. Thought I’d ask around before telling him to “crank it back!”
Thanks!
They did indeed have truss rods. that guy is full of soup!
In fact both the rods & nuts (3/8″) were made in house.
I actually worked there (Baptistowwn N.J) for almost two years, back in the mid seventies as an apprentice til thry moved to Fla.
The model specs are hand-written on the label, and has an (H) at the end. I’ve tried researching this, but to no avail. My guess is that H would stand for Honduran Mahogany (probably the neck), as the rest of the guitar is rosewood/spruce/ebony. I’d appreciate any info. Thanks!
Never had the neck adjusted but in the early 90`s Tom LoPrinzi did a neck re-set. the guitar is still in fine shape!
I`ve played a lot of fine acoustics, but the “Augie” is still my go to guitar!
My CM is 1980 #669… you are so right. These are exceptional during this period of time. Mine also, very tight grain with bearclaw top. Should you ever find the need to part with it. Look me up. I am collecting from this time period.
John
I have it! Jeff

what is the value of the guitar today. This one was made in New Jesrsey and purchased mid to late 1970’s
guitar market is very low for value at present. This should go for 1500 – 2000 in a decent sale with good condition/ no issues.
Serial # is 0592.Can anyone date it.
I have #669 which Donna at the Loprinzi office has told me is a 1980 build
I also have #776 which is 1981. So yours is likely 1978 – 79 or so.
I collect these from this period if you ever part with it, give a shout.
thanks

I have a Lm-15 signed by Augie LoPrinzi guitar, made in 1974 Rosemont NJ. Great guitar, sounds band plays awesome. If interested in buying please call me 919-633-7384 or email [email protected] I can send pictures.
I might be willing to sell my Augie . If you are ever in the Phila. area email me and maybe we can get together .

I have a D-28 LoPrinzi purchased directly from Augie in 1972, I watched him making it…same batch that Larry Coryell used and thanked him for on his live album that month. It has brazillian rosewood, no actual serial number just his signature and date inside. It was a most amazing guitar..but I have put it thru alot over the years, it has been fixed twice by Augie and then by his brother Tom. I am performing on stage alot and need a more reliable acoustic/electric and selling this one. As it isn’t in grerat condition, it will only be valuable to a collector or someone willing to put some work into it and recognize it as the great guitar it is. Any suggestions
If any interest in selling the old Loprinzi, I may be interested. Please drop me a line.
John
Anyone selling can contact me, see if it works out. email or call 415 286 1318

I HAVE AN 0089 PURCHASED MID TO LATE 1970’S
I bought a Guitar with Augie on the head and a Augie label in the body, model F-28, at a very low price just so I would have an acoustic guitar to play once in a while. At the time, I did not realize that Augie guitars were very expensive and frequently counterfieted. The first thing I noticed about this Augie is its tone. When tuning it with an electronic tuner the instant you hit a string the tuner would jump to the frequency and stay there like it was glue to the dial. I have a range of electric guitars from expensive Gibsons and Fenders to inexpensive fakes. None of my electrics come close to holding a tone like this Augie. The tone on my Augie is steady and robust. If you have an opportunity to add an Augie to your collection do so, you will not regret it.
I have an F-28 built by LoPrinzi in 1987 and was authenticated by him in in 2012. The guitar is for sale. If anyone is interested please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks Geo.

How much do you want for the LR 20
I have a great steel string LoPrinzi guitar that I purchased in Rutland Vermont 20 to 25 years ago. The label says "Constructors of Fine Guitars A LoPrinzi, LR-20 Plainsboro, New Jersey". The label is signed (upper left hand corner) T. LoPrinzi. The serial # is 3519. I would greatly appreciate any info anyone might have about this guitar, including authenticity. Thank you.
T. LoPrinzi is Augue`s younger brother Tom LoPrinzi. Tom learned how to build guitars under Augue and worked for Augue until he sold the business. and moved to Fla.
[The body of this post has been lost]
You’ve got the real McCoy! Problem is you WERE dealing with two companies. As far as I understand, Augie sold Lo Prensi Guitars then moved to Clearwater, Florida. He then started building guitars under his name "Augustino." Today he has the Lo Prensi name back so goes the story. I own two guitars purchased from Augie in the early 80’s. The play great, loud, and sweet. Augie’s daughter is now involved with the business. They have a Website. Search "Augustino Guitars." Enjoy…..

I have an LR-20 signed by Augie LoPrinzi, also made in 1974 in Rosemont, NJ. The serial number is 843. I’ve owned it since 1976 and it looks a little older, but plays sweet. The last I heard of Augie LoPrinzi was that he closed up his Rosemont, NJ shop, moved to Florida and makes (or made) only classical guitars.
