guitars where invented in the early aztec empire using cattle gut and turtle shell just like many ancient harps were. then the aztecs and incas used wood that was hollowed out to increase the volume and lower th pitch

its like a folk guitar basically, its a guitar thats large bodied and wood. if you've lived you've probably sseen a fair share of them without maybe knowing what they are, but no amp is needed, and they produce sound from vibration inside of it
