Why do people hate drums?

Alot of people hate drums because they think that they are to loud. I think that if you knew how to play a drum you would think otherwise. Like take my one friend, Danielle, for instance. She used to hate the drums for that reason that I said before. They are to loud. But once she learned how to play them she loved them and changed her mind on if they were to loud. So maybe you should try things before you assume that things are to loud, to soft, to hard, whatever. Thanks for your time.
