I have a sovereign acoustic guitar model number 3900 made in China. Just trying to see if it was sold by Sears s and Roebuck catalogue. It had blond body , black neck and read headstock.
Just trying to see if any information is available. Thanks.

    Thank you for informations.

We are a guitar factory in china, and specialized in guitar manufactering especially the electric guitar.
And my guitar ‘s quality had been aggreed by most of my Eur and america clients, they are very pleased with the paint , sound and shape of my guitar, and sometimes I do the guitar packs including the bag/case , amp and the tuner etc as my customers’ request.

Hope to receive your mail and cooperate soon.

I have a small flat top (blond) with darker brown sides & back with a steel reinforced neck. Looks like a cheap guitar. But is it? No other description on the inside. Most of the references on this site appear to be for electric.

Sovereign brand was bought by Harmony guitars in the USA, Sovereign was the top line of the Harmony factory. Cheap price, but top material; finish (especially glueing) was not tops, but wood quality makes gibson and taylor look like little ducks; go see http://www.broadwaymusicco.com for details. I have a 60’s 1203 model, very rare in Belgium, sweetest sound and (after neck reset) sweetest action. Take good care of these player guitars, when properly set up they ring like bells and keep you playing. Due to the typical bracing (ladder bracing instead of X – bracing) I recommend you use ultra light or light gauge strings to avoid bellying of the top. Have fun!

: I also have a Sovreign Acoustic. I found out they are made by Harmony but that was all I could find.

I have a sovereign guitar. I had had it long before I could play any good, so I did not know it’s value. It’s dinged up pretty bad, but it still sounds great. I want to get the paint touched up and refinished, but i’m not sure if it will decrease it’s value. Does anybody know if it’s okay.

I am in the same boat, I was given one about 40 years ago, it must be good as it has ivory fittings – it is US made.
