I contacted Fred Bolton last year and had the pleasure of meeting him in person at the winter NAMM show (1/03). He'd brought along a single cutaway fretless 5 string and Fred was kind enough to let me play it. WOW!! what a great instrument! super light, incredibly playable, and a dynamic lively tone that just KILLED! 4 or 5 cats played it after I did and while no one touched the controls, it sounded completely different in the hands of each bassist. that to me is the mark of a great instrument. I was convinced and plan on adding a Bee to my arsenal *SOON*!!
