Allied Lutherie was formed in 2001 by Todd Taggart, a founder of Luthiers Mercantile and the Healdsburg Guitar Festival. Although most of Allied's efforts are directed to the professional builder we are happy to help anyone who has an interest in guitar construction.

Our specialty is reclaimed or salvaged legal Brazilian rosewood backs and sides. Unearthed stumps are processed into guitar backs and sides. We only produce quartersawn sets, and count among our regular customers Jeff Traugott, James Olson, Collings Guitars, Jeffrey Elliott, Armin Kelly, Dake Traphagen, Taylor Guitars, Gibson Montana, and many others. We're hearing that it's the best material anyone's seen in decades.

We also bring in salvaged and legal pernambuco (for violin bows), also taken from stumps and old fence posts. It is of the highest quality as well.
