The guitars of Roger Knight

Way back in about 1985 I think, I purchased a guitar built by Roger Knight in 1975. I played a bunch of instruments at the time including an Ignacio Fleta and was taken by this guitar. It has been by my side through thick and thin and I Never grow tired of it sound and playability. I would just as soon loose my house than this guitar. Thank you Roger for many years of absolute pleasure. I can tell you in no uncertain terms that this one object has been the most precious thing..aside from family, in this person's life.

I worked in the Blue Guitar from 1968 to 1985 as an instrument builder and repairman. Circumstances led me to another vocation but I have kept in touch with the shop and and still dream of some day returning to guitar building. The years have reinforced a feeling that the Blue Guitar was a special place. The shop's philosophy was and still is one of uncompromising honesty and integrity and a desire to produce the highest quality product possible. Over the years I saw world famous musicians pass through the Blue Guitar, many with damaged instruments considered by other shops as irrepairable. When the repairs were complete it was often nearly impossible to tell that the instrument had been damaged at all. I fully expect that many years in the future, repairmen will look inside these instruments and read the signatures and know full well who Yuris Zeltins and Stephen Neal were. I hope this has not read like a P.R. notice for the Blue Guitar. It is my honest and impartial opinion. Roger Knight.
