South Jersey Guitar Repair is a service oriented business located in Oaklyn, New Jersey. South Jersey Guitar Repair specializes in the repair and building of stringed instruments, focusing primarily on guitars and basses.

The repairs and building are handled by Peter Brown, certified Luthier. He attended Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, where he learned the newest techniques for building and repairing guitars and basses. After leaving Roberto-Venn, he secured jobs working at various repair shops in Bucks County and Central New Jersey. Here, he further concentrated his skills, focusing primarily on fretwork, setups, reconstructive/ restorative work. He has performed repairs on vintage and new instruments alike.

While all of our repairs are handled by Peter Brown, our inlays are handled by Christopher Bayley. Chris is a jeweler by trade and has an uncanny nack for inlaying. His work is very precise and beautiful. Here, at Academy Music, we use only the finest abalone, mother of pearl, semi-precious stones, and various other materials.

So glad I met Peter when I moved to Haddonfield

Peter has worked on many of my Martins . I perform at country clubs and restaurants.
Sometimes I need to have guitar fixed sooner than later. Peter always comes through. He sets the action exactly right every time ! Besides his great Luther skills , he is just a very pleasant guy to deal with.

5 outta 5 stars

As a customer for over 4 years, I can say without a doubt that Pete does quality work. Have had about 10 setups, fretdress, switch repairs, pickup repairs, and probobly more and have always been satisfied. Prices are fair and everytime I get my guitar back its even better then when I first bought.

Taylor 110 repair

Hi Don,
My boyfriend's 110 Taylor guitar has a crack on the neck from a slight accident. Is this something that can be repaired? I have photos of the guitar injury :( If you would like to see them, I can email it to you? I would love to fix this for him, but I would like to know if it's repairable and that it would not cost me a arm and a leg since this is the guitar I purchased for him and it wasnt cheap. Please advise.
