The 'solid body' electric bass (Fender 'P' [Precision] was already being built and Leo Fender held/holds the patent. So, the Fender Precision solid body electric bass, legally, was invented by "Fender". To clear up 'this' up, the "Fender Telecaster" bass was identical, visually, to the first "Fender Precisions". This I know for a fact.
