: I have a MusicMan Stingray II guitar, and original Leo model. The Stingray 1 and 2 models differed only in that the two models had slightly different neck radius' and were offered in overlapping years.

Mine is in near mnt condition. It is one of the original white bodies with the blond neck. The original Musicmans were finished in a polyester finish, which was much tougher that the laquer that were found of Fenders. It did have a tendancy to yellow more which is how you almost always find these Musicmans.

BTW, the Stingray models were only offered for a short time and were quickly replaced with the Sabre model. This makes the Stingray models quite rare. The Sabre had a different layout and resembled the basses a little bit. With this model they dropped the rotary switch found on the Stingray.

My Stingray was purchased from the original owner circa 1979. Like most Stingrays, it has a very powerful sound. I used it maybe 5 or 6 times at a few gigs. I tended to prefer a Les Paul and a Guild Starfire IV because they were
