Quite good but not quiet...Doug's guitar is very hot in the mix which gives this recording a very edgy sound. The playing is very aggressive and flawlessly played. The guitar nine web site compares him to Satriani but I hear a lot of jazz influence in his choice of notes. A lot of chromaticism like that of a be-bop style player but with a hard rock style approach. I highly recommend this recording to the person who likes good instrumental rock.

I thought the over-all presentation was good. The guitar tone is very thick and meaty. The guitar is also mixed very hot which some listeners might find a little un-nerving but nevertheless the playing is superb. You can tell that this guy has done his homework and obviously has a vast musical vocabulary. The acoustic piece is terrific. Multiple parts with no overdubbing. Rick Fierabracci also has some great solos. I know Mark Craney has done some great work on drums during his career but it doesn't quite live up to the stuff I heard him do with Gino VAnelli.....Sorry!!!!
Saw this guy at Riverbend Fest Tennessee
Went to a Class of the 70's show tonight came home to look this guy up on internet. I just ordered his solo album and also bought and Ambrosia CD. Doug tore it up tonight!!! Especially the trading off with Edgar Winter. I can't wait to hear this Stormchaser cd..
Virtuoso Guitar Playing
I got this cd off of the guitar9 site because it got a 10 rating repeatedly. I love good guitar players and Stormchaser is a solid hour or so of some phenomenal guitar work. True virtuosity....
PS-- Damn , this cd is almost 10 years old. I'd love to hear this guy now...Frank b

A friend turned me onto this one. Never heard of this guy. He should be well known. Damn fluid playing and aggresive as hell!!! Way to go Doug Jackson...
