Re: dating a twin reverb
: : I recently bought a Twin Reverb, 100 watts; it works well, even if aesthetics are a bit ruined.
: : This is the very first time that I own a vintage amp.
: : I donât know how to date it.
: : Iâve been told it is from the late Seventies, about â78 or â79, but since itâs a 100 watts it should not have been made prior to 1977, isnâit?
: : On the rear, right, thereâs this code: A629916
: : About the JBL speakers:
: : right:D120F 092577-A 34601
: : left: D120F 092577-A 34654
: : Are they originals?
: : Logo: it is w/o tail.
: : Inside the amp (you can see it from rear), thereâs a little paper, marked Fender, with this written on:
: : Manufactured under the following patents: 2817708, DES.192859. Does this mean something?
: : Thanks a lot.

: :
: it looks like a 1976 model. Check out tcguitar.com for the amazing 'Dating Fender Amps By Serial Number' pages.
You're almost right, in fact it's a 1975 model. I just found the following code: 010575, printed in the label that specifies the colours of the wires. It should be the production year, or something similar. Thanks anyway.
