The Guitar ReRanch

The Guitar ReRanch offers over twenty of the colors seen on the Fender and Gibson guitars of the ’50s and ’60s. The colors are mixed in nitrocellulose lacquer (as were the originals) and supplied in aerosol spray cans. Aniline dyes for translucent colors, nitrocellulose clear coat and perhaps most importantly model specfic application instructions and support are also available from The ReRanch.

Don’t make the same mistake I did. Guitar ReRanch is hands down the very worst company I have ever purchased on the net. First they sent me one color of the right paint, and one wrong, which resulted in my tech spraying the wrong color; all they did was replace the can of paint, not even free shipping. Then, when I ordered more to cover up the mistakes, they shorted my 2 cans. Their phone is constantly busy, and if you are lucky enough to get through to them they rush you off the phone. They don’t even answer their e-mail. I am sorry I ever did business with them, but once a project is started with their paint you can’t stop dealing with their incompetent staff and poor customer service, so don’t start. Quite honestly, I don’t see how they are still in business. AVOID GUITAR RERANCH AT ALL COSTS OR YOU’LL BE SORRY. I sure am.

: Guitar Reranch ain’t a bad company, I purchased from them lots of times and they always sent me the right stuff. Maybe the phone is always busy because they are a great company and the word has spread. They must be doing something right or the phone would not be busy. I think you should look for another tech because if he sprayed the wrong color from an airesol can, he should have tested it first on a scrap piece of the same wood. The ReRanch are pro’s but even por’s make mistakes, we are all human.Maybe you should have been pissed at your TECH because he didn’t do what all tech’s do when they start on a new project and that is to make a sample.

Let mw tell you guys a few things about Reranch. First of all, it’s not "they" – there’s no "incompetent staff" – there’s no staff at all. It’s not a company or a business by any description. It’s a guy named Bill Lester who works in a band and is on the road a lot, and also competes in chili cookoffs on the road a lot. When he’s home, he refinishes guitars, and he makes (excellent quality) paint in authentic vintage colors. Paints which as far as I know are not available anywhere else. He does it as a labor of love. And although he never answers the phone, I have finished about 20 guitars using his products and find him to be a stand-up guy. I can’t always get his stuff on short notice – a lot of the time, his web site is "closed" (that’s when it asks for a password) and so I just have to plan ahaead or wait. That’s the way it is – he’s not making a living at this. He doesn’t care about being a top-rated business, and he knows he can’t provide Amazon-like customer service. So he’s not trying to. If he doesn’t conform to what you think a business should be, don’t use him. But instead of spending all of your energy complaining about it, why don’t you let the rest of us know where else we can shop for a can of Ice Blue Metallic, Burgundy Mist Metallic, Gold Top or Shoreline Gold, etc.

Reranch is unique. It’s not going to conform. Tough luck. Take it or leave it. From my standpoint, I’m glad the guy is doing what he’s doing and I’ll buy his product when available. If you want to be more connected with the guy, join the forum over there. There are a bunch of knowledgeable, generous guys and you’ll learn something. You’ll also have a place to post about a mixed-up or delinquent order, and Bill will see it when he logs in – that is an alternative when his e-mails aren’t answered (BTW, I’ve never had a problem with e-mail). Just don’t log in over there and start complaining. And feel free to log in there and let us all know where else you can find those colors in a can!

The Guitar ReRe’s really don’t seem to know how to run a business. You’re right, Franklin, his tech should have made a sample before he sprayed the guitar, and we are all human. Good one. But no phone, no e-mail, no customer service, NO PAINT (in my case my order didn’t even exist) definitely take the cake over getting an order mixed up. As far as I can tell, they aren’t even trying. Better Business Bureau indeed! I just missed a very important deadline because of this, so the bad business trickles down, doesn’t it?

I am in my second week of Reranch hell. I have tryed calling them and it goes to a voicemailbox that is always full. I work in customer service dealing with retailers everyday and I have never in all of my time in this line of work delt with anyone this bad. If I had researched I would have never purchaced from them. Does anyone know how to get a refund from the Rip-offRanch?

I certainly didn’t get any moneys back–after hinting that I wanted it back, in place of my two month old paint order (paid for-$70). Once my order DID exist (remember, my order didn’t exist, right?) I received my paint, two stinkin’ months later. Far after my deadline to start finish-work on a guitar. My two e-mails concerning the time issue seemed to make as much impact as my $70, or these posts for that matter. So no e-mails, refunds, phone calls, customer service, human interaction, or paint for us amateur luthiers who will probably **** up the finish anyway.

I just ordered 75.00 worth of product. It’s been over a week and no reply from them. No tracking number no reply to my email. I think that this guy should at least tell you that before you order. I don’t have a good feeling about this at all.
No matter how good this paint is it’s not good business.

        2. Awesome products! Great prices!
          Jase

I’ve ordered from Reranch a few times and my orders were shipped fast! I can’t find the quality, the colors and the free “How to” directions anywhere else. I’ve had at least three people recommend Reranch to me and I’ll always recommend Reranch to people who are in need of a great product and a great company for ALL your “Guitar\Bass refinishing needs” !

It’s not the company nor the product.

I’ve gotten perfect matches and perfect product on every order and I’ve ordered dozens.
In cases where I have had to spray out of a gun, I’ve ordered two cans and vented them off and poured them into a gun, for again excellent results.

It’s not the product, it’s novice home guitar owners trying to be refinishers,

Wanting to "antique" my 2000? Telecaster’s neck. The look of my new tele’s neck is popsiccle like. Do you have any product that can or eventually recreate that vintagey played through hell look? I’m such a poser. I do like the feel of the 52 reissue tele’s neck.
