This popular thread has been given its own page : Steinberger S-Trem Problem – need help !!
I have a problem with my Steinberger S-trem not locking in place (slips out of "hardtail position very easily). Also, the rectangular hole between the two screws beneath the strings (just past the ball end holders) has a piece of jagged, silver colored metal (rectangular cross section almost flush with the hole). It appears that some kind of part was broken off.
Can anybody offer any suggestions as to what to do or what parts may need replaced ? I don’t want to replace the whole trem unit unless I have to.
Thanks,
Dave Wingard

I have a Steinberger GL2T. Serial # 6638. I am the original owner; the guitar was purchased from Ed Roman in 1987. It is in very good condition and has the original and highly sought-after patent-pending version of the TransTrem System. The guitar comes with the original gig bag and an extra faceplate so that you can customize it with your own paint job or design and keep the original faceplate for resale. $1750. Please email me at [email protected] for more info or if you’d like me to send you pictures. Stephen

try looking up an Erlewine lazer. Kramer also made a headless using the same winomatic bridge as the lazer. Do the tuners spread out like a fan? If so, its not a steinberger.

Did any of you two fine out who the manufacture is? I am looking at one tomorrow, original owner, bought in the mid 80’s with e original case. But he can’t remember how made it. It looks like the Laser bridge on it. But can’t find an image of it anywhere. It has the same outlined image XK-5 and on the back XK-5 MR
Thanks in advance…

Someone explained how to fasten the 2 bolts with the knife edges where the R Trem is pressed against.
May be these bolts are loos on your guitar.

I have one for sale. I am asking $350.00 for it. It has two EMG Double humbuckers, transtrem tremelo, compsite neck, maple body. I had it made for me in 1988 and is the same specs as Vito Brattas from white lion.
