I have a Fender Silver Face Super Reverb Amp that I purchased used in 1975. The only number I see on the back right side is A42320. How can I find the year it was made?
I recently purchased a vintage Fender super amp and was wondering if anyone had any information on it. Like what speakers or speaker it had originally. Any info on the amp itself would be appreciated. All pics ive found with that model No 5B4 have been Different. It must be a late 52 or early 53 because its a wide panel amp.
Thanks, Lance
I have a silverface Fender Bassman 50. It keeps blowing fuses. Does anyone know whats up?

If the fuse blows when you turn the power switch on, and leave the standby switch off, You might have a bad power transformer. Page me if you want to.

i got this amp give to me. i dont know much about it. there are no speakers in it and they chopped it in half. from 4 speaker cabinet to a two speaker. i hooked up some external speakers and it works fine w/ a little work. but my question is how do i find out what year model it is . i would like to restore it to its orginal condition, cabinet and all. anybody with anything about these amps, it would totally appreciated.
I have a silver face super late 60’s amp.I’ve just replaced the input tubes, splitter tube and reverb tube in the last week. The first output tube was replaced about 6 months ago.All were factory spec tubes except I put a 12at7 in the input stage rather than a 12ax7.It has always sounded great like that. However now my amp keeps dropping out then I bang it and it comes back and drops out again right away.Itgoes real quiet and fuzzy, almost like an output tube is going.I’ve had it at the shop twice in yhe last two weeks and they can’t find it.Do older amps just die? Why cant anyone fix it?I love the amp and don"t want to get rid of it.Any suggestions?

I have a 60’s Fender Twin that did the same thing. Replacing a bad tube socket fixed it. Hope it’s that simple for you.

i would give you $350 plus shipping for it…
I’ve got a 76 Super Six with wheels and functioning reverb/tremelo footswitch that I’m about to list on ebay, but I’m not sure what the market value is. I’m open to offers.
I have a 72 that is a little ruff looking ( not trashed) but one from the Seattle Grunge Royalty days. Awesome big sound. It’s too big to ship but local Seattle-ites are welcome.
If you still have the super six e-mail me, i’ve been looking for one.

I had one during the seventies and early eighties; sold it and regretted it ever since. If you still have it and it’s mint, I would pay you $500 for it.

I have two questions on using the Fender Princeton 65 Guitar Amp:
1) I am picking up a lot of noise and hum (esp. when I turn the reverb knob). I am trying to record using the Princeton 65. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this?
2) What is the pre-out jack and can it be plugged into a direct box for recording (rather than having to mic the amp)?
Any help will be appreciated!
