Can anyone give me advice on fitting a Les Paul Standard scratch plate? I bought one last week (HCSB)and I think a sunburst needs a scratch plate to look perfect. I am sure it is an easy job and I want to do it myself but I don't want to ruin my new guitar.

Thanks for the photos. I went ahead and fitted the scratchplate in the conventional way. Actually, I did'nt even drill holes - I just forced the screws in. No problem. I have seen similar pick guard mountings. It is a novel approach but I think I will keep my guitar looking old school.
