Have an Ibanez as above over 20 years old. Just wondering what is the approximate value?

I bought mine from my girl friend, now wife, for $250 in 1979. It has aged very well and sounds better now than it did then. I would not part with mine for less than $500. Then again, I will never sell this guitar as I expect it sound even nicer in another 25 years!

Re: Ibanez Concord Model 699

I don't understand all you guys! Or maybe somethin's wrong with me!! I Just got a 699 from my mom that she bought back in the mid 70's, she had never played it and the strings didn't need to be changed, and i thought It soundd terrible! Then again I may be wrong I don't know much about folk, guitars.

Re: Ibanez Concord Model 699

Man I don't know how you were playing it...lol. In my opinion it is the best sounding 6 string guitar that i've ever heard. My step -dad has one that his dad bought in the seventies and it sounds phenomenal. I think that yours may not have sounded as good b/c it was never played much. As a guitar ages and the more you play it, the better it begins to sound b/c the wood begins to change shape a bit and settle into a more natuaral state. That guitar is about the only 6 string that i would give up my 12 string for. My hat's off to ibanez.

P.S. does anyone know where i can find a used one in good shape, or something that sounds remotely as good....preferably something from around that time period. thanx guys.
