I’ve one all white, in a perfect state, bought in 1975 in Paris. It sounds much better now than 35 years ago. It’s a 754 ML (L for left).
And it also sounds much better than a new real Gibson! Tested in a guitar shop. Any idea of the price?

I have an Ibanez Concord model 627 12 (that’s a 12 string guitar). I bought it in 74. Does anybody know where I can find its tail piece?. It’s broken since 85.
      Thanks,

I have an Ibanez Concord 628.12 which is probably a near copy of yours. I have had it for only a few years. The talipiece was broken on it and i bought an aftermarket one for about 40 bucks. If you are looking for a tailpiece i did a search on google and found a site that is selling one for my model it is probably the same.

        Pritt

I bought my Ibanez in 1974 – 75, It was going for £120 in a Jersey, C.I. shop. I really wanted this Guitar but, what happened was that a friend was in Jersey on the same day and saw the same guitar and bought it….
I was gutted, as I had asked the manager to ship it to Guernsey to its sister shop. Alas I walked into the bar and lo and behold this friend was playing this guitar. I approached him and web talked about his amazing guitar…6 months later he wanted to start playing the bass and sold the Ibanez 754M for half price….Today I still have the guitar and refurbishing it as it has travelled a lot and got quite battered. I took the original bridge out and replaced it with ebony wood. Still sounds amazing…. You have an amazing guitar play it and enjoy the sound…July 2014

        1. 1973 Ibanez 754ML Concord Sunburst jumbo acoustic
          David M

Just to let other owners of this beautiful guitar know that I bought my 1973 Ibanez 754ML Sunburst jumbo acoustic in Shaftesbury Avenue London in 1973 and I still gig with it – I have a Fender and martin Acoustics but none of them can compete with the action and sound/sustain of this acoustic guitar. It allows me to play jazz, blues and ballads and it’s like milk n’honey to play – so there you go. Would I sell it? – not for less than £4K!

        Vassilis

        Hi,

I recently got a used Ibanez Concord 752 model from a shop that sells used guitars here in Greece. I had never seen such a guitar in the past so I decided to give it some chords to test is out. It got me around 4 minutes to decide I had to buy it. I have no idea how much it costs, the guy at the shop sold me for 500 euros and it is absolutely worth it.

Only thing the shop did not have the hard case and I would be very much interested in buying one.

I have a George washburn signature series extended cutaway 36 fret guitar in excellent condition. It is black and red "crackle" paint. It has floyd rose tremolo with locking nut, with rosewood fingerboard. It has a seymore duncan humbucker pickup with a custom "splitter switch/output /volume" to allow single coil only. it also has a tone control knob. It is a very unique guitar that was sold for $1199.00 before the custom electrical work was done. What is a guitar like this worth these days??

I’ve since traded the Tak for a Taylor. From what I’ve learned there were about a thousand made. Believe it or not, no records were kept of info bout the guitar at Takamine. This guitar was the first of the Takamine series. The particular one I had, had the serial # 880505579. It was #579 and made May 5, 1998.

My brother’s wife had an old guitar she thought my 10 year old son might like. He’s been wanting to learn how to play the guitar. It is a Hondo h624 acoustic. The ser# could not be read. It was made in 1981. Looks to be is fair condition. Any idea what it is worth?

This may sound a little crazy, but a few years ago i had to sell my ibanez concord model 699 due to financial reasons. So lately ive been trying to track it down. I live in baltimore maryland, so im thinking it didnt get too far. There is a quarter sized gouge on the left side by the neck and as far as i know, thats the only way i could ID it. If anyone knows someone with an ibanez concord purchased in baltimore MD, e-mail me id like to talk with you. This guitar was my moms and it would mean a lot to get it back.

            1. I out of the blue looked back on this…I posted it a decade ago..
And you replied to it last year. I hope you’re still around.

Bit about why I want to find it..was once my mom’s, started playing when I was ten and am now 36..went thru a stage of really bad heroin addiction and sold it for drug money along with my first electric…a black mim strat. Sold them both and still can’t let it go
.not trying to give you my life story lol. But I’d like to ask you a few questions. The guy I sold it to had a small used gear shop on Joppa Rd in Towson. Was called danos music. thanks man.

: Have an Ibanez as above over 20 years old. Just wondering what is the approximate value?

I bought mine from my girl friend, now wife, for $250 in 1979. It has aged very well and sounds better now than it did then. I would not part with mine for less than $500. Then again, I will never sell this guitar as I expect it sound even nicer in another 25 years!

I don’t understand all you guys! Or maybe somethin’s wrong with me!! I Just got a 699 from my mom that she bought back in the mid 70’s, she had never played it and the strings didn’t need to be changed, and i thought It soundd terrible! Then again I may be wrong I don’t know much about folk, guitars.

        1. Re: Ibanez Concord Model 699
          Tim

Man I don’t know how you were playing it…lol. In my opinion it is the best sounding 6 string guitar that i’ve ever heard. My step -dad has one that his dad bought in the seventies and it sounds phenomenal. I think that yours may not have sounded as good b/c it was never played much. As a guitar ages and the more you play it, the better it begins to sound b/c the wood begins to change shape a bit and settle into a more natuaral state. That guitar is about the only 6 string that i would give up my 12 string for. My hat’s off to ibanez.

P.S. does anyone know where i can find a used one in good shape, or something that sounds remotely as good….preferably something from around that time period. thanx guys.

      1. 699 rebuild
        Shouwen

I am repairing my 74 699. Cracked bridge and warped face. I removed the bridge and the flattening is in progress. I can’t seem to find an Ibanez replacement bridge. Any ideas? I bought this in HS new and want to get it back in playing shape.

Also looking to perhaps replace the tuning keys.

        1. Ibanez Concord 699
          jimmy shoes

I have a 699s that I bought new in 1974. I wouldn’t part with it for any amount of $$$. I’d have to spend thousands to get one that sounds as good to replace it. I haven’t gigged with it much but have played it a lot at home and jamming with others. Everyone comments about how good it sounds. The blond wood on the top has darkened a little with age so it looks as pretty as it sounds.

If yours is anywhere near as nice as mine and you still have it up for sale, I wouldn’t even think about taking anything less than $500 for the guitar alone.
