I've since traded the Tak for a Taylor. From what I've learned there were about a thousand made. Believe it or not, no records were kept of info bout the guitar at Takamine. This guitar was the first of the Takamine series. The particular one I had, had the serial # 880505579. It was #579 and made May 5, 1998.

: O.K. here's what I found after purchasing a beauty on ebay. there were only 400 made and they are spread out throughout the world. The laminate is called Tiger Striped Maple and is in the color red. other than that your guess is as good as mine. if u have info write jeremysmola@hotmail.com
