: A couple of years ago, my Ovation Celebrity Deluxe was leaning up against a chair in my room. It slid, and fell onto the carpeted floor relatively lightly. Unfortunately, this minor fall was enough to somehow separate the neck from the body. It didn't separate completely, but the neck wobbles and so I unstrung the guitar and haven't been able to play it since. Anybody know how to repair this?

I tried to repair a friend's ovation with exactly the same problem. Considering how firmly most acoustics have the necks key jointed and glued or bolted into a body block, ovation has a very poor design. I was able to use a good glue, and made both a top and bottom block to aid in clamping the neck with a lot of pressure using a deep C clamp. In short, the glue held, but the wood on the soundboard separated as soon as I began to tighten the strings. So, now I'm robbing the electronics from the ovation and putting them into another acoustic guitar. This is the 5th ovation I've seen with this problem, but the first one I ever tried to fix. I'd also be interested to know how to do this repair. This guitar is both beautiful and expensive. It's a shame they are constructed so poorly.
