Re: 60's White National Resoglass Resonator Guitar
: I have what seems to be a fairly unique National resoglass guitar. It has much in common with the white National Map (Newport?) series of guitars that included an electic 6-string and bass I belive. The head stock and neck (fret indicators are white Quarter circles) are identical as well as the character and color of the white fiberglass body. This electric or another similar guitar from National called a Studio 66, I believe, looked quite similar in character. This Studio guitar was pale pink in color. The body shape is a lot like the Valco resoglass that one sees in red and black, but the resonator itself is different as well as the placement of the two round holes which appear on the back of my guitar. I've searched the net and ebay for over two years and have yet to see it. No doubt this had limited distribution. Anyone have more clues?
Yes I have a 1962 Studio 66 up on Ebay now....http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=914316447&rd=1...nice guitar just not my style. The color is called "Desert Tan" and from pics I've seen it's all original.
