They are as good or better than most guitars made in spain,They have a good preamp,and tuner,and the finish is perfect.Itried one years ago,but at the time i could not afford it.Now im hunting for one myself.That model as been discontinued,but one may be up for sale somewere.Theres one new for sale in france,but it does not have the cutaway.Other than that,and the woods,it is,or looks the same.The fgp is made of cypress,and spuce top,i think,and this model for sale in france,is made of sycamore ans spuse.Sycamore is more expensive than cypress.Also this takamine have a truss rod in the neck,and the spanish flamencos dont have it.Ihave a classic 136s with rosewood and cedar top, a new tc135sc,and a cd 132sc,and i love them all. Ialso have a saez,a alhambra 7fc clip,and about a dozen more made in spain,And i like the taks better.Just click takamine flamenco guitars for sale on the google search engine,and you will find it.The cost is 1700 euros. My tc 135sc cost me 1650.00.Good luck

      I bought mine in 1986 which is also when the Guitar World ad ran. If you’ve seen "Back To The Future, his is an Ibanez Roadstar also, but black with three single coils. I believe the 1985. This makes this guitar MORE memorable!

      The RG440 was part of the first model RG’s to be released. They came out in 1986. They still had the RS (or Roadstar) shaped body but this was among the first models to be released with the ‘Original’ EDGE Trem. I’m thinking of selling mine at the moment.       I bought an Ibanez GR440 when I was 16, almost ten years ago. I’ve played it faithfully that entire time. I never see them on e-bay, or in on-line stores, infact I’ve only seen one other. My question is, what years were they produced– I think it was either 85 or 86, and what are they worth. It’s black and in pretty good condition?

      If you have any information on my "baby," I’d love to hear from you. Thanks for reading a silly question.

      One more. I know Ibanez made a "Starfield" brand guitar. I’ve been looking to get one of those as well. Are they any good? do you have any?
