: If this is your first, in my opinion, best way to go is to get a pre-made neck. I just bought a cheap Fender squire for 110. I then went out and bought a piece of mahogany for 50 and a seymour duncan humbucker for 75. I already had chisels n' stuff so I'll be starting soon. It will only have a humbucker with a volume. I may add the tone in the near future. 235, you can't beat it. You can also finish mahogany with tung oil. Leaves a very nice finish and isn't toxic so you can do it inside. Best of luck.


if you ont already have the parts to make it, it would be more efficent if you go out and hire them from hire shop. you would most probably need a router a jigsaw and (maybe) a sander. best of luck again!
