I think Baja’s Dogs also has some killer 1403 PlayTape Players W/Radios for sale! He ran into a carton of them that are made in Japan and not the cheap Hong Kong China ones! Check them out at socalmusicexchange.com! Click on the purple PlayTape graphic at the bottom of the page! Man these things are so mint that you can smell the new when you open the box! Email him by using the link on his page! He’ll do you a deal and ship’s worldwide!
PlayTapes were the first tape cartridges released for portable use. Finally you didn’t have to lug your favorite records or them messy reel to reels around! Because of the small size, 2 1/2″ x 3″ x 1/2″ they’re as collectable as baseball cards and don’t take much room to store. Did you know Volkswagen even installed car players in their Bugs And Buses? It was the invention of the century! PlayTape2 Music Machines and tapes hit store shelves somewhere around 1967 and by 1970, portable 8 track players ruled the market. Most stores had sold out their existing inventory of 2 tracks. The end had come for the PlayTape. They instantly turned into collector items!

I’ve been looking for a lap slide guitar too. However I can’t afford a Weissenborn original since they are antiques and cost up to and above $3,000 and the Asher model, which is an acoustic/electric model made with Ben in mind, costs about $2,000. However, Superior makes an affordable lap slide in the style of the Weissenborn starting at around $700-800 and I saw that Guitar Center carries 2 models of lapslide guitars both under $600.
I just saw Greg’s posting about wanting a lap slide guitar, while in search of a good lap slide guitar. I love ben harper’s music, and I am really interestind in learning to play a lap slide guitar. If anyone has info. please send it to me. I know you can buy a lap guitar/skateboard on ben’s site.. hehe. His electric lap slide guitar was made by an Australian company….

I am looking for a quality A/E guitar for live and unplugged playing. Preferably a thin body, but not to tangy unplugged. Due to the price I am wavering between a Ibanez AE18 and a Washburn DC42SCE.
