Thank you, Mick, for posting this link to locate this poster. I have just discovered how much I love Fenders, and had absolutely fell in love with the "Alice In Fenderland" poster. I believe I had seen it long ago, but didn’t think twice about it. Now, I positively adore it. I had no idea (at least I think that I didn’t, I don’t remember now) that the person who had created this poster had created a line of other Fender fairy tale posters as well. Again, thank you so much for the link!

When I was a senior in high school (1977), I had one of these posters proudly displayed on the cover of my notebook… mine was actually a magazine ad. It depicted Alice looking up at the caterpillar smoking his hooka pipe while playing a Stratocaster in his upper arms and a Precision Bass in his lower arms. Man, I wish I still had that! I’m sure these are as rare as hens teeth, so you better hang on to it!

It depends if this is an original full size poster or one of those magazine size 11X17 color copies. The full size poster can go from probably $20 up to $100. The smaller magazine adds are basically worthless. If you have the full size original poster, please e-mail me if you want to sell.

Hi.I have four of these posters, different themes, but alice also.I found one at http://www.rareguitarparts.com/store/mcart.php?ID=616 for 150,needing some tears repaired.
I had mine framed to conserve them.As rare as they are you would think it would be more.I think Alice is the favorite, but it’s also the best known.I got a couple free fro a guitar store in the 70’s.I shared one with a friend.
        I have "Jack and the Beanstalk","The Goldilocks","Snow White",and Alice.

I have tracked one copy down to an Ebay auction. Originally Alice in Fenderland was postered by Fender during the CBS years. Produced in 1975 and released in 1976. Besides the poster it was also put on T-shirts at the time. I originally saw it on Catalina Island in 1976 on a shirt and didn’t purchase it, oh well. I’ve been looking for this poster since then being an long time Fender player. Several shops have heard of it but have never had one in stock, seems to be a pretty rare find. The inter-net hasn’t been much help, it seems to send you to sites with some Fender memorilibilia or car parts. Keep looking, it paid off for me.

      1. Fender posters
        Doc

My dad was the art director who designed those Fender ads in the ’70’s, the wildlife series and the nursury rhyme series among others. Various illustrators were hired to finish them out, but they were dads creations, and consequently I have original storyboards, posters, t-shirts as well as awards he won for them, etc. Very cool stuff from a very interesting time. Cheers all!

        1. Cool!
          Alexander

You’ve got a cool dad! Could you share some images of the storyboards and posters that you have? I’m sure many Fender fans will be delighted.

            Doc

Thanks Alexander! I’ll be sure to pass that on to Dad. It may not be right away, but when I get the chance I’ll dig out his portfolios and the boxes of awards and t-shirts and post some pics for people to see. Dad is still creating art since his retirement some years back, not commercially, but you know how it is, once an artist…

  1. I am looking for a Vintage Blues Poster as well. I am not sure it is the same as what Luke is looking for, but it has a Les Paul, and a Strat laying on top of a pair of blue jeans, next to an old 45 record. The working "Vintage Blues" us written in the upper right hand corner. If anyone knows where I can find one, I appreciate the help.
