LEVIN "star"

I've lost my father's Levin "star". It all hapened years ago but it has allways bugged me. So now I wanna know: is there anyone out there who owns and wants to get rid of one. I've also been offered a Levin with the serialnr: 146625, That's all I know so can anyone tell me where to find out what kind of model it is?

Re: LEVIN "star"

Hello,
The guitar offered to you is a 1944 Levin. I don't know the model. Check www.vintage-guitars.se for nice levin's.
Best regards,
Jesse

Fender USA Stratocaster, early 80s

Serial number: E322974. Light yellow body, maple neck & white scratch-pad. Could you value this instrument for me?

Thanks.

Eugene Howard guitars

Does anyone have any info on Eugene Howard guitars? Classical style headstock, tin tail piece bridge, two piece screw in back.

: Does anyone have any info on Eugene Howard guitars? Classical style headstock, tin tail piece bridge, two piece screw in back.

I'd like information as well. I have a Eugene Howard double-neck guitar that is probably c. 1900-1920.

I'd like to see a picture of the double-neck Eugene Howard. I am trying researching this maker.

Re: Eugene Howard guitars

I, too, have a Eugene Howard guitar. It's a parlor guitar w/ a slotted headstock.

Re: Eugene Howard guitars

: I own a eugene howard as well... a 1918 parlor acoustic with a slotted headstock. in rough condition they bring approximatley $1000 U.S.A. They sound better than most vintage martin guitars of the same era and are in some cases more sought after. You wont touch a E.H. guitar (with Brazilian rosewood and in good condition) for under $2000 USA dollars. That is a good price for them. nobody knows the brand but when they talk to a vintage guitar guru about E.H. guitars all the guru will do is drool and compliment. tonally you wont find a martin that does the parlor thing better!!! believe me i own both from the same era. the E.h. cannot be beat! email me with questions... pics of your Eugene Howard, maker guitars. I am an E.H. freak and former Pre World War II Martin Snob.

can some one help <

hello out there im not sure if anyone can help me locate some info on electa guitars< trying to find out where it comes from and how old it is< helpppppppppp

Re: electa banjo

I don't know if this is any help but i own an electa banjo and i am trying to find out some information on it.
I did find a web site on electa about 2 years ago and they were made in australia but i cannot seem to find the web site again.

Elacta Banjo

I bought an Electa 5 string banjo about 10 years ago from a Australian visitor from Fiji. I know they were made for the Australian market. I have only seen two others, one was a really cheap looking budget model and the other was given to a woman by her sister to help her with her arthritus. I sent photos of my Electa to the owner of an American Asian Banjo site who had never heard of an Electa !!!!!. It appears to be very well made with heavy gauge chrome plated ring lots of pearl Inlay and has a pearl insert at the top of the finger board with Custom Made etched on it, it also has a 20 hole tone ring.. I was informed it was a copy of a Mastertone of which very few were made. It does sound very good for a Jappo banjo. If I knew how to upload pix I would but I dont know how to do it. For the record I also own a Vega open back Folk Banjo and a Huber Lexington and a Trumpet i used to play in a trad Jazz band and in a large youth orchestra......lucky me!!! ....I live by myself and own a cat.

Re: can some one help me too?

am trying to find out same thing
if successful please share it with us

I cant help with much except that I have an Electa Les Paul which is a stunning guitar. Its black, has a set neck and puts out. I also have an Electa Telecaster which is a fantasstic guitar to play.

From what I know, Electas were produced in Japan probably by the same companies responsible for Ibanez,Tokai etc.

If you have any other info let me know.

I've listened to Peters music for decades, and wondered where his militant days guitar had gone? Do you know? If so, let me know. I may have a way to help get it back to the museum.

Hi, any idea of how much you want for it, and roughly how much shipping to England would be?
Look forward to hearing. Cheers, Jon

Hennessy guitar

I own a hennessy 12 string. I've yet to come across anyone who's ever heard of him. My Dad used to say he was an American gangster or something and he only made 12 guitars in his life, and only 4 of them were 12 string - so there are only 3 other guitars like mine - and its a wonderful guitar with mother of pearl inlays. But its difficult to plays because its so big. Strangely enough it never needs tuning. Or maybe I'm just going tone deaf.

Has anyone heard of Hennessy and where can I found out more about rare guitars?

cheers everyone

Alex

Estrada?

Hey I got a guitar called Estrada and i wanted to know who the manufacturer was and if possible, the price.

Re: Estrada?

: Hey I got a guitar called Estrada and i wanted to know who the manufacturer was and if possible, the price.

I also recently purchased one. It is made in Japan but I don't know the value. It is a good sounding instrument.

Re: Estrada?

I also have an estrada and I found this off a guitar question and answer page:

Estrada is a common name. It was a brand for guitars made in Japan by Suzuki, but yours is likely just a Mexican factory made instrument. I would not consider it valuable, but it may be a perfectly usable classical.

Re: Estrada?

I have an Estrada which I purchased in metro Detroit new about 1968. It is a Japanese made replica of a Gibson J-200, much like the current ones marketed under the Epiphone label. The body seems to be mahogany and the top may be laminated spruce. Sound is not as full as the real thing but the action is sweet. It has a tunomatic bridge. Was this guitar in fact made by Suzuki? I'd like to know
