: I would like to know about a yamaha guitar#FG375-s. any information will be appreciated/
I have one and considering selling it as I am buying a new Martin. This guitar sounds really great. I think it best suited for rhythm and minor lead playing and kicks a taylor in the ass as far as bottom end. This guitar was made in the late 1970’s and is a joy to play. I bought mine on Ebay and the setup sucked. I took it my guy and now it is correct and ready.
: .
Do you still have the Yamaha FG375 for sale and if so do you have any pictures of the guitar. May I ask what you want for the guitar and what condition is it in. Where are you located. I am in Toronto Ontario Canada.
Thanks very much.

I have an 87 Gibson Les Paul Custom – I think Lite. Basically it’s a Les Paul custom but has a thinner body and it has 3 knobs and 1 small switch insted of 4 knobs. Is this called a LP Lite? Would anyone know how much this guitar is worth? Thanks – DOM
Yep – it’s a Custom Lite, sounds like. I think they were only made in ’87 & 88 or something limited like that. as for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t know definitively (I just love this guitar — don’t own one, YET:))…but I’ve seen a couple on ebay sell as low as $1100-$1500 or more.
I own a Goya classical guitar model G-10 with the serial number 271557. According to all the Levin serial number lists that I’ve seen this dates this guitar at something like 1952. It’s no longer in great shape, it had two spots and a couple scratches on the top when I found it at a pawn shop for $60, now it has two small cracks in the sides, the finish is starting to crack on the top, and according to my brother the nut has been replaced. I was wondering if anyone could give me some kind of information on what it is worth and mainly on finding some reissue or replacement parts for it (by this I guess i just mean the tuning machines and maybe the nut)? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot,
–Ben

I recently was given an old guitar that was made in Japan. It is a knock-off of a Gibson ES-335. On the head stock is a small plaque with the name "Conqueror" in large letters and the name "Bruno" in small letters. I can find nothing on the net under either name. Does anyone know anything about these guitars and who manufactored them? The guitar seems to be well made with a very good sunburst finish on it and the hard ware seems to be of good guality. Except the tuners. It has a floating tail hinged at the bottom of the guitar around the strap peg. The bridge is not fixed to the guitar, but has adjustable spring loaded rollers. The edges of the guitar and neck are bound with a white strip that has yellowed with age. The craftmanship of the binding, fretboard inlays, and the finish is excelent. On the heel plate of the neck is stamped "made in Japan" and a serial number. The head stock, pick-up surrounds, three way switch plate, and floating pick guard is made from a cheezy looking yellow mother of pearl. The pick-ups look to be single coils but are wider and taller than normal ones. They have six independant adjustable screws, are black with a white inner center around the screws. The selector switch is different looking than any that I have ever seen in that it looks older in design and is large and heavy duty looking (the part that is under the plate. The stem is small with a black knob), and the wiring is massive compared to todays. The pick-ups themselves are heavy. At first glance they look cheap but on closer inspection they appear to be well made. Nothing is stamped on the bottom though. They are quiet, with very little hum. They are not as wide as a normal humbucker though. Its possible they are stacked H/Bs but I don’t know if they made those back when this guitar appears to have been made. I know that this is probably just another no name, no value, low end, no re-sale, who cares about it guitar. But I’m curious about it because of the craftmanship that was put into it. The guitar plays very well, and sounds beautiful. These pick-ups have a strong bottom end to them and good clarity. The guitar’s resonance is strong and mellow at the same time. Well, hopefully someone will know somethig about it.
I have a friend that is going to sell me a 1980’s Gibson Futura, the "can-opener" style body that was pretty short lived. The guitar itself is in near mint condition.Any idea what it’s worth?
I’m looking at a g300 Martin Goya guitar. It has the Martin label inside. The serial # is 94981366. It hasn’t been played much so it’s in good cond. as far as I can tell. Can you tell me what it’s worth?
: I recently bid for one at $18,500 and lost to a Japanese guy. I think he paid $25K. If it is in really good condition (i.e.7-9 on a scale of 10) I would offer $15K and be prepared to go as high as $30K if he competes it. Good luck. Send a jpeg if you get it.

I have recently bought a Contemporary Strat; but find it difficult to set up properly. If anyone has a copy of the owners manual or can offer advice I would appreciate a copy!
After getting out my guitar that I bought new in ’87, I too had some issues with the setup, particularly the System III Tremolo after tuning. I found a great site that has the owners manual for the Contemporary and the System II and III tremolos. Go Here….
http://freespace.virgin.net/john.blackman4/cont.htm (There’s a link at the bottom on the page to a PDF file as well as a Tremolo link on the left sidebar)
Good luck, the Tremolo link gives the recommended settings!

I just had the locking nut removed and the floating bridge locked down like a fixed bridge. Works fine! Find a good Guitar Tech.
I play since 1993 a maybe ’82 Contemporary Strat and because of tuning problems using tremolo arm I locked down the bridge. My guitar had the locking nut in the headstock removed and the other two I’ve seen missing or removed too. Does anyone know why?

Looking to buy a 1991 Fender stratocaster contemporary. Had one but like most musicians had to sell it. Now want to get one again. Has a double coil humbucker on the back with a spliter switch and 2 singles in front. It also had lock downs and fine tuners. With the dark neck if at all possible. I don’t think it came with a neck threw but if u find one I’ll take it. And try to be easy as possible on the price!

: I have a ’71 Ibanez Les Paul Custom in black with gold jewelery. It’s the one made in Japan that was such a better player than the Gibson, that Gibson sued them to stop making it. And it is a sweet one. Dwight Devereaux, the lead player for Tommy 2 Tone likes it real well, but his wife won’t let him have any more guitars. I have to sell it. Anyone interested? I have new Ping machines on it, and the bridge has just been reset with the wiring all cleaned and new connections. (I did not hamper the value, and still have all the original machines) The neck has a new bone nut and was re-blacked, and the intonation reset by Kurt Lauban, who does guitars for Poison and Night Ranger. My wife won’t let me keep all my instruments either, so it’s got to go. (Besides, I’m really a harp player/vocalist. But I just couldn’t pass this thing up!)
I hate to sell it, but I’ll consider all reasonable offers.
What would you say it’s worth?
