I have a EX360 myself…they are usually in the neighborhood of about $250-$350 any more. Any one have a wiring diagram for the EX series? I need to make some repairs and updates, but I want to make sure I don’t goof it up. If you have a diagram, or know hwere i can get one, please email me.

Hi, I can probably help if it is not too late… There is nothing earth-shattering about the wiring on my EX so let me know what controls you have on yours. Mine only has a p/u selector switch and one vol and one tone control for the H/S/H pu combination.
PS remove the /SPAM from my email address!

I just need to make sure I’m not getting the ground and hot for the jack mixed up. If my memory is correct the ground should be the outter section of the wire which would be the shaft of the plug and the hot should be the center of the wire which corresponds to the tip of the plug. Is this correct? Also does anyone know how to find out exactly which model ex one has? Mine was given to me in a slightly beat up shape and there’s no model number. Just says EX Series on the head. Thanks in advance for any help.

Does anyone know how to re-wire a strat and add the switch to get the "Dick Dale" tone? I’ve got a ’63-’64 strat with original pickups, hot rod deluxe and Fender reverb unit. I know Dick uses a Showman, but I should still be able to get close.
I’ve ganged the middle and neck pickups, with the middle out of phase. It’s close, but not quite.
    Any ideas???

  13. telecaster pickups
    kelly rhyne

Can somebody tell me if a tele can suffer the same problems as a strat when the strat pick ups are too high. On a strat, they need to be "staggered" in height; the bass side of the treble pick up being highest, the bass side of the middle pick up somewhat lower and the bass side of the neck pick up lowest of all….I know this to be true. (believe me, I learned the hard way…..by basically destroying a 1963 Blond Strat…..yeah,I know, it makes me sick too). Anyway; does the same thing apply to teles???????

Mine is white (ivory-pearl) has 2-single coil pickups and a bridge humbucker. 3/27/02 I just found out my friend had a guitar and he sold it to me for 30 dollars. It turned out to be a Squire 2. Mine seems to be a little different than Wayne’s but it has the same single-single-double pick up arrangement. They are the original pick ups and probably need to be changed. Mine is in very "vintage" condition, and just about everything could use new parts. After buying the guitar I found out a saddle was broke. I have a few questions such as where can I cheaply get new saddles for this older type of guitar. I was also wondering about sanding it down. What kind of wood is it made out of. Could you also tell me how your upgrades turned out. Last, If you know a little history about this
guitar I would very much appreciate if you could share it with me because I’m kind of curious ’cause I have never heard of anything like a Squier 2. How much do you think this guitar is worth?

Please respond, and thanks for the time,

Mine seems to be a little different than Wayne’s but it has the same single-single-double pick up arrangement. They are the original pick ups and probably need to be changed. Mine is in very "vintage" condition, and just about everything could use new parts. After buying the guitar I found out a saddle was broke. I have a few questions such as where can I cheaply get new saddles for this older type of guitar. I was also wondering about sanding it down. What kind of wood is it made out of. Could you also tell me how your upgrades turned out. Last, If you know a little history about this

Hey you guys, i have a 99 Squier Strat, (Affinity Series) and have done alot of work on it, For the guy who wants to know about what type of wood is used, its usually Poplar Wood. Squiers dont usually come with Ash or Alder bodies. I have Taken out the pickups and replaced them with Lace Sensors (Gold neck, Blue Mid , and Red Bridge) but have recently removed them to put in some of my own houndwound pickups (which sound better than any pickups ive used or have heard). My strat came with 500k pots (dont know why, came with single coils not humbuckers) but have noticed that i like the brighter, fuller sound of them as opposed to 250k pots. You can find wiring schems just about anywhere on the web if you search for them. I do have one question if anyone can help, on my pickup selector, there are 8 terminals side by side, rather than the Fender style with 4 poles on each side, how do i know or where can i get a diagram to follow to rewire and know which wire goes where? thanks, later.

  16. Replacement Pickup for Fender JAzz Bass
    Bruce Mills

I own a 1972 Japanese clone of a Fender Jazz Bass cerca 1965. The brand name on it is Cortley. I would like to buy an active pickup that will work in it because it has a weak output for today’s amps. Otherwise it has been a perfect performer for all these years, therefore well worth the upgrade. Is there such a thing as a replacement pickup for a 60’s Fender Jazz Bass and can you sell me one? Thanks. -Bruce

  17. wiring
    adrian bilinsky

    To Dennis,
I am a struggling young musician from Australia. Due to the ridiculouse price of descent guitars here (with the exception of Maton and the new Danelectro) I have decided to make my own with parts I have found lying around the joint.
At present I have a Telecaster body, an old Ibanez neck, a hotrails humbucker and a cheesy old single-coil.
My main problem is that I don’t know how to wire up the pickups to the three pots and three way pickup selector switch.
If there are any hints you can give me with this, or perhaps, if you know of some way of wiring these pickups so that I can get the broadest tonal range possible I would be very grateful.
    Yours sincerely
    ADRIAN

  18. nut replacement
    Dennis Hart

How do I replace the nut on my Les Paul?
How do I remove the old nut?
How do I install the new nut?
    Do I use glue?
If so, which type of glue?
Should I leave this job for the Pros?
