    I’ve just bought a Cort second hand guitar! Finding out what modal it may be has been a real hassle, but after a while and after a few e-mails with Cort repair Manager Scott, we came up with this description and model! Neck-Thru body construction, Die cast tuners. 2 vol, 2 tone, pickup selector, coil tap. Limited edition with specially figured hard rock Canadian maple body. otherwise Zenwood body. Deep recessed sculptured neck allows playing to the 21st fret. Ebony or rosewood fingerboard, solid brass bridge! It initially had Powersound PU’s, but the previous owner upgraded to DiMarzio Air’s. I have no idea what it could be worth or when it was made or where, I can;t find a serial number or anything. Does anyone have extensive knowledge on vintage Corts????

    Can anyone help me out! There is a beautiful Cort guitar that I want to buy, but I don’t know the model or date of manufacturing, so I don’t know whether the price is good! Its a double cut les paul, soft maple body and set in neck, 2 DiMarzio Humbuckers, 2 vol.knobs, 2 tone knobs, 1pickup and 1 coil selector, FK-1 combination bridge and the jack cord is on the front of the guitar, seems like an older model! I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out!

      I have a Cort Les Paul style serial number 89111771, made in Korea. Does anybody know what year the guitar was made?

        :the first 2 numbers is the building year, so yours is from 89
        But the problem with model name I cannot solve either. I have a beatifull cort for sale, 91, but the name of it??

    I have one,,, I bought in a pawn shop recently for a 150 bucks it is in mint condition and plays like a dream for a "cheapie" it is a well made guitar,, the body is made out of laminate though but it’s still nice for what it is,, it’s white and a little faded in spots cause it sat for so long this GIT has done more time sittin’ around then it was played,,, the frets have no wear on them at all! I do admit I had to do alil’ work on it to get the action down (ya know truss rod, bridge adjustment etc,,,, ) the serial# label on the heel is pretty worn can make out 3 digits (853) I think this guitar is a "knock off"of the 60’s Fender XII(a.k.a. Strat 12 string) IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFO ABOUT THESE CORT 12 STRINGS IT WOULD BE COOL IF YOU CAN EMAIL ME BACK AT [email protected] Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      I have a Cort 6/12 string doubleneck and I have no info on when it was produced or anything, but it came with the case and still had the original truss rod adjustment instructions inside.

        I had a Cort doubleneck in 1983-85. I have been told it was made by a consortium of Japanese luthiers from Aria and Ibanez, but I have no idea if this is true or if the original makers are affiliated with the Korean Cort company that’s making guitars today. It had an Alembic style body and dual necks with multi-laminate thru-body construction. The pickups were DiMarzio-designed Japanese, with 3-way switches for each neck plus dual phase switches, a master neck switch, dual master tone/vol pots, and a pre-amp boost which seemed to knock the putput up about 20db. Hardware included Scaller-clone tuners and brass Fender-type fixed bridges. The guitar was visually stunning, and sounded great—but in fact, the fretwork on both necks was miserably sub-standard, and despite fret mills and desperate action work, I was NEVER able to get the axe to play as swetly as I wished–and since the thing weighed a TON, and started to give me physical headaches just standing and playing it, I eventually traded it away for a 1978 Ibanez Artist, which to this day is the BEST solid-body guitar I’ve ever owned and which is still my main axe.

      hey dude i have a black cort les paul and i live in the pe area. im not too keen on selling this guitar because it sounds great especially with a metal hard edge sound!(better than some gibsons i’ve played on!)
      i have heard that they stopped making them due to legal implications, how true it is i don’t know but i have only ever seen 3.
      i think that these guitars are awesome and will highly recomend them.

        Well i own a Cort X-6 and its pretty good ! THe floyd rose its awsome, and i can use it like crazy all day and the guitar will stay nicely tuned ! the playability is good, as well as the sound and it has a pretty nice and sleek shape. For it’s price, you can’t get much better 🙂
