Anyone got any recommendations for speakers for a 1968/69 Pro Reverb (the originals have been replaced with old Goodmans speaker)
Alnico? Ceramic? Jensen? what about Celestion Greenbacks?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

      Patrick Garin

Greenbacks do not have enough volume when using just one. If you had a 4X12 cab loaded with greenbacks it would be awesome. For one speaker I would get an alnico speaker if you can afford it. I’ve been searching for a speaker too and the advice I got was do not use one 12 inch celestion greenback.

    1. www.allparts.com has the lyre vibrato tailpiece
      Jason

      http://www.allparts.com/categories.php?cat_id=419&cat_name=TREMOLO%20TAILPIECES

I remember seeing one on allparts.com a while ago. At the time of this post the pictures on that page all have broken links so I can’t tell for sure, but I think it’s the "Long style Gibson vibrato with arm and cover," in nickel and gold. If that URL is broken, search under "tailpieces -> tremolo tailpieces." I hope this helps on your quest for a supercool guitar. Hail SGs

I’m trying to find one these too. I have a Epiphone Firebird VII and the one on it seems as good as the ones on my Gibson Firebirds. I’d certainly settle for the Epiphone model if someone could direct me to a dealer. After all the Epiphone is not that much different to the Gibson model.

I’m curious, what would it take to fit a tremolo made for a Gibson SG onto an Epiphone G310, the location of the bridge seems to be off and I cannot tell what will and won’t work.

  12. gibson humbucking pickup covers.
    keith

    hi,
    I have a 1968 Les Paul Custom.
Back in the 70’s I was foolish enough to take the gold plated pickup covers off. ( like flared trousers it was fashionable…… yes I know now…) Even worse I GAVE them to someone !! (…insert Homer Simpson DOH !! of choice ).
I would now like to replace them, so if you know of anyone who has a pair of suitably worn covers which they are considering selling, I would be most interested in a purchase.

    cheers

  13. Fender Mustang tremolo arm (Fender Deluxe Vibrato)
    Ted

Just thought everyone should be aware that back on November 25th, 2000, I ordered a couple Fender Mustang tremolo arms (Fender Deluxe Vibrato)for my Mustang from A.R.I. Engineering and they never arrived. Not only did they not arrive, but A.R.I. Engineering does not respond to my e-mails, nor does anyone pick up the phone when I try to call them. Does anyone have any experience in dealing with A.R.I. Engineering? Are they no longer in business?

Anyone know where I can find a Fender Mustang tremolo arm (Fender Deluxe Vibrato)?

    Thanks,

    Ted

      Quentin Cooper

Looking for two 1.5 henry chokes for Gibson 345 varitone circuit.
      – Hell, I’m looking for one too (mono will do for me or is there two in there anyway?) any ideas on where I can get one? – Also has anybody got any access to some MODERN ways of wiring a 345 (independent volume controls so one pickup works even if the other is fully turned down), and so the pickups dont load each other inthe middle position. Ideas?

    2. Re: gibson ES345 guitar part wanted.
      efren sabio

      Hi Ivan,

      I have an es345 I bought in 1977. I need to fix
it myself for I’m also in electronics. I don’t
      trust the repairers around here!

That 2 metal things under the rear pick-up are coils? I measured it in the ohm’s range & they have resistance.

Please email me the circuit if you have it. Gibson
      Co. seems of no help.
      thanks,
      efren

  14. Older Carvin guitar amplifier
    R.J. Merrell

I have an older Carvin guitar amp, probably from the mid-70’s. It is a model # ST 2500, 125watts RMS @ 4 ohms. I was wondering if this is a tube amp, or solid state, and if it is a tube amp, what are the correct replacement tubes for it. Also where can I get replacement parts for it, and what all would I need to recondition it. It works fine now, and sounds decent, but I’d really like to recondition it.
Any info on this amp would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
