I'm looking to get a bass guitar that i just built and completed custom painted. I have a picture in mind, and want to try this out on my own, but would like a lot of tips. If there is anyone out there who has any suggestions and tips for me for painting my bass, please let me know (as far as Nitrocellulose or acrylic lacquer, paint colors if I send you a picture, undercoats/preparing the surface). This is not a reproduction of anything, just themed as (on the back) a lightning strike coming down from the head (which will be painted as a cloud cluster) down to a tree on the body, and on front a few lightning strikes eminating from clouds, or just an electrical surge througout the surface. Please help soon. I hope this site is still active.
