  1. Gibson Les Paul Studio
    Mikey

I was wondering if anyone has seen any Gibson Les Paul Studio’s lately, prefrebaly a ebony finish. I’m in the market for one, and since I have only bought one guitar in my life, I am a bit inexperience in the price ranges of this axe.

any leads or advice would be much appericated… thanks

Hi looking for a 2001, 2002 or even NOS (New/Old Stock) Albert Lee Ernie Ball Music Man electric guitar. SPARKLE finish, fixed bridge, with MM90 pickups. Prefer non-matching headstock.

    Hope to hear from someone.

  3. fair price for a 1998 les paul custom
    adam

I have a 1998 Les Paul custom (black with gold hardware). It is in excellent condition and comes with the nice leatherbound case with satin lining (also in excellent condition). What would be a fair market value at this time?

: I tried out a second hand Takamine Electro-Acoustic Classic guitar today and wondered how much I should expect to pay for it? Can anyone help? I looked on the Takamine web site but couldn’t find any reference to this model.

Well I own this model flamed maple with eletric accoustic with cutaway. I paid brand new 630 dollars with hard case. I bought it in January 1995 and truth be known it is not really flammed maple but a plywood guitar. The neck is well crafted and it sounds awesome amplified. I just wish that the main body was spruce and not plywood. The guitar has held up well over the years. Looks brand new to this day. However If I was to buy it again I would not pay a dollar over $250. Only because plywood sucks for resonation. But I have been happy with it and it does sound great amplified.

      Hope this helps.

If it is in good condition don’t pay more than $200 used.

When I say I would pay $250.00 I mean only brand new.

: Will pay top dollar for instrument in VG to Excellent condition.

      Hi Doug,

I probably can’t help you because I am in Australia. I was hoping you could help me as I have a FG612S in immaculate condition with hardcase I want to sell. I have been given a price of what it would be worth, but if you could tell me a ball park figure of it’s value, I would appreciate it.

      Cheers

    1. Re: why is Yamaha fg 435 so hard to find?
      Dwight Listmayer (via moderator)

: It’s not so much the value (though I wouldn’t mind knowing).
: I’d really like to know why is it so hard to find information about the FG435. Is this a good or bad thing?
      : thanks

Yamaha just doesn’t have alot of info out there. It seems that only the boutique class of instruments, or more mainstream to exotic brands have access to info. Also, is it possible that your model was discontinued in 1994? – that’s what the blue book says, along with a pretty good description: dreadnought style, spruce (laminated) top, round soundhole, black pickguard, agathis back/sides, nato wood neck, 20 fret bound bubinga wood fingerboard with pearl snowflake inlay, rosewood bridge with white pearl dot pins, bound peghead, 3 per side chome tuners. Colours black, marine blue, Oriental blue, tinted and tobacco brown sunburst finishes. Hope this helps.

  5. My Vintage Takamine
    Salem

I am looking to sell my Jumbo Takamine acoustic-electric, it’s not my style but it’s a great guitar. People I know that know the guitar say it’s worth about $3500, but I’m not looking for that much. Off hand I can’t say what model it is exactly but I know it is an EF and the design is very much like the Gibson Jumbo-100 or 200. It is a flattop but it has an arch back. Everything on it is original and it’s got a great tone. If I was to sell it, I would be asking $2500 max. for you yankees(I’m from Canada) it would be like $2000 max.!!It has the letters "Takamine" carved into the headstock rather than painted and it comes with a unique case especially for the guitar. Anyone interested

  6. 1970 Grade no.3 Garcia cedar Guitar Pricing
    Rebecca Frampton

I got this guitar from my aunt. It is six-stringed, Garcia 1970 Grade no.3 handmade. It is in excellent condition, except that the nut had to be replaced. When I took it in to get fixed, the guys there said it was probably made of cedar, and that it had a balanced sound (the bass was the same as the higher notes, or something :D) and that it was probably worth somewhere between 1,000-5,000. I would like to know if there’s any truth to this. I can provide digital photos if you need to know more. Thanks!

: i have a 1970 garcia #3 also. could you email those digital pics? [email protected]
Dear Rebecca ….if you look in the sound hole and you see horizonal lines in the wood it is worth $100 and if the grain goes straight through than it is worth $1000. I have a Garcia like yours and it is a bootleg I paid $250 for on ebay. Thanks Warren Volpe Sta. Mon, CA

        cdkoth

I have this guitar. It was purchased for me in 1984 for $350.00 Canadian. I still have it and the back bridge needs to be replaced. I continue to play it although it loses its tune quite easily most likely because it needs the repairs done.

I play a Seagull, which after owning both the Yamaha and Taylor 12’s – has impressed me greatly. Its sound and action rival the Taylor and the Yamaha, both of which are good-sounding and playing 12-strings. I know its hard to find just the right guitar with a 12-string. I’m very picky.

    1. Re: Early 1970's Epiphone FT-570-BL - Value?
      Wayne Arnold

These guitars in their day were a fair guitar, I recently saw one here in OKC and it sold for 225.00 and it was in very good condition for the year it was made. The Guitar Center was the music company who sold it. I hope this helps, sorry that I couldn’t tell you it was a really high dollar guitar but Epiphone hasn’t made any of them since the very early 60’s and even then you had to know which one to buy. By the way Gibson does not make Epiphone, Samick is the manufacturer of Epiphone and that’s another reason Epi’s don’t have a resale value.

      1. Epihpone Ft 570-BL 1974
        MarkM

Bought my FT 570-BL in 1974 for $300. I realized immediately that it had superior sound but crummy hardware. I replaced the machine heads with Grovers, shaved down the saddle and replaced the nut and it has played great for 47 years. I have recently started learning more complicated jazz chords and realized I needed a guitar that is a bit more precise. I played a whole bunch of guitars from various luthiers at Merlefest this year and ended up buying a Taylor, which I love. I use the Epiphone for travel now.

      2. Epiphone FT-570SB -Sheraton
        CHAZZ

I found mine at the local Salvation Army for $10.49 !!!!!! CRAZZZZYYYY, GREAT looking and sounding guitar. Beautiful binding, pearl inlays, etc. BIG body with rich sound. Has white label Made In Kalamazoo figuring it for about 1969 production. In near to excellent original condition and that is amazing since it was just laying on a shelf next to pots and pans (NO case). My lucky day !!

      3. 1974 Epiphone FT-570BL for Sale - Japan Made
        James Podesta

I am the original owner and bought this guitar in 1974. It’s had very little use over the years and is in good condition. The only defect is a small ding on the spruce top near the pick guard. Also have a case in great condition that came with the guitar. If anyone is interested, e-mail me and I can send pictures and we can talk. It’s been a good instrument but after 44 years of ownership, it’s time to move on since I recently bought a Breedlove which I like much better.

      4. sheraton ft-570 bl
        Anonymous

bought it new in 1973 from Dean Markley, he had a little music store back then. Had it set up by a luthier friend, new tuners and nut. Plays great and has a good sound due to size, shape and age now. I think you got a pay $1200 and up to get something better, and it may need work to play well too.

      5. FT-570BL/SB Sheraton Frontier
        Adam

I went to GC to the high end acoustic rm and wanted to see which I like best between Gibson, Martin, and Taylor. I like all 3 but I think the Taylors are more suited to my style. They’re very bright. Anyway, I went to the normal lower end guitars and I saw a big Epi guitar hanging on the wall for $375.00. Man, it played every bit as well as the Gibson’s AND the Taylors! I loved it! I had to have it! It’s the Iced Tea Sunburst FT-570BL/SB Sheraton Frontier and I’ve had it for about 7 years now and it’s in Mint condition. It stays in tune and I really like it! I wouldn’t sell it for much less than the price for a decent used G or T. I saw one sell online about 3 or 4 years ago for $905.00 and I’ve seen the Blonde ones go for around $200 and up. I wish they had more prominence than they do but regardless….It’s a hell of a good guitar!

      6. Epiphone
        Shawn

        I have a Epiphone FT 570 BL
It says it was made in Japan and it also has Sheraton written in the area for No.
        It’s also a blonde.
I bought it at a garage sell.
The owner didn’t know where it came from.
It had been in the box for years she said.
It has the most beautiful sound of any guitar I’ve ever owned including one medium quality Martin and Taylor.
I’m curious as to the value of it as well.
It has quite a few extra bells and whistles.
Such as mother of pearl inlays on the frets and other stuff.
Would you or anyone on here know anything.

        Thanks

I have a Washburn Parlour guitar 1896 style model no 345 with original case, which needs minor restoration work. This is to be carried out by a proffessional. Does anyone have any idea of its value or where i could find out more about it. Have tried all usual places with a blank.
    Thanks

  25. what is my guitar worth
    Ann Weigand

I have a 1967 Federico Garcia classical guitar that I inherited from my mother. It was custom made for her in Spain. Its in very good condition with a minor scratch on the back of the neck. What’s it worth?

My dad has the same kind. I c as of writing there is no appraisal of it. I saw a 1970 model on ebay going for $300. But that’s about as close as I can come to an appraised value on it. I’d sell it for more than a $1000 just because it’s 40+ years old and it’s still nice looking.
