FELIX MANZANERO 1975 – a collectors item.
This classical guitar was bought from a guitar collector in Barcelona 1992. The guitar was build in Madrid by Felix Manzanero himself. Until then the guitar was not used. Since then it has been played on every day, by a professional guitarist, so it has achieved a mature and rich sound.
The top is made of cedar. There are no marks and it has been kept in controlled enviornment at 50-55% humidity. The guitar has been kept in its hard shell case.
The price is $8000 with hard shell case included. The shipping cost excluded.

Extremely rare 1974 Robert Ruck concert classical guitar. Brazilian Rosewood, mahogany fretboard, cedar top. Round, dark, rich and powerful sound. 664mm scale.
Robert Ruck is considered to be one of the top American Luthiers. His waiting list is extremely long, and in fact he is not longer taking orders. The waiting period for those lucky to get in is 7 years. Some of them retail between 12K and 17K. Several of the world’s top concert players play Ruck Guitars, including the guitar in which Manuel Barrueco chooses to record with, a 1972 guitar in many ways similar to the one offered here.
These guitar is in good condition but be aware that it has several visible scratches on the top and back. It has also a fine crack on the lower part of the fretboard that stretches about 2.5 inches, but it stopped growing 5 years ago and has not affected the sound. There is also a barely visible hairline crack on the top next to the top side of the fretboard. I can provide several closer pictures of all of these.
If you are in New York, please feel free to make an appointment with me to try it out. It is a very special instrument that deserves to be in the hands of somebody who uses it more than I have in the past few years.

Is this guitar for sale?
: I bought this guitar new, and just don’t play it enough anymore to justify keeping it couped up in a closet. This is a true concert quality instrument, and deserves to be played. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides (the sides are laminate, as all Ramirezes of this era were), cedar top. Huge, expressive sound — considerably louder than a <b style="color:black;background-color:#ffff66">Ramirez</b> 6-string without sacrificing any tone. One rice-grain sized ding in the top — bass-side lower bout area (does that make sense? :), a few scratches on the back. Otherwise exc/exc+. A bargain at $4,500 firm. Contact me for photos and I’ll email you a bunch.
Can you send to me Photos of this guitar and how much is you’re lower price for me to pay.

Whoops — left out that little detail 🙂 Yup, this 1973 1a Especial, S/N 72xx, is a 10-string. Currently, it is tuned to the modern tuning, although I prefer tuning it in the boroque style — it is more useful for lute and piano transcriptions in that configuration. When using baroque tuning, the lower four strings are usually tuned D,C,B,A. Despite their low pitch, the basses remain clear, and not muddy. A truly outstanding instrument ready for the concert stage. $4,500 firm. Buyer pays s&h&ins.

Charles did you ever sell that Ensenada 12? I have the very
same instrument, purchased in 1971. It even has the case I brought it home in. I’ve played it down through the years
along with other guitars I have owned. The tone is superb.
This year I plan to put a whole band new set of strings on it. It may be 34 years old, but it has outlasted all the ther guitars I’ve had. Sorry to hear about your accident!
Think you could play steel slide guitar instead?

This popular thread has been given its own page : M. Contreras C6 1981 for sale!
Hello,
I have a M.Contreras I model C6 for sale, here in Australia. The guitar is something of an old warhorse, wearing a few scars, but nevertheless is quite playable, and very distinctive sounding. I have used the instrument very successfully in recording. The back is distinctly arched, and is very attractive in Indian Rosewood, Spruce and Cedar (neck)complete the guitar. Could do with a refret one of these days, and some action lowering, which will account for the guitar selling for something less than what these historic instruments normally command. Would also make a good flamenco guitar with its distinct Spanish "popiness". Please email me for further information. I will action the guitar on ebay shortly, but make an offer earlier if you like.
Kind Regards,
Mark Nahuysen

Three years later. Do you still have the guitar?
do you stil sell the guitar
As you know, Hermann Hauser family and descendant are very famous for all of their guitar models. You can not compare Karl Hauser with H. Hauser .
Eventhought Karl Classical guitar models were sound as best as H. Hauser, but Karl Hauser could not make his name compares with prestige Hermann Hauser. They shared the same sound board design, bracing technique, Fret board design, same woods, same materials, but Karl guitar are worth only 1/10 of Hermann. People tends to pay 20,000 for H. Hauser, but may be 2000 for Karl Karl, however, were well known for exporting electric guitar, Bass guitar, violin, viola and other strings.
I am looking for any Karl Hauser models 500 to 800 series
I will pay best price for a Karl.
Hello,
I have a Karl Hauser Classical over 40 years old. There is a white sticker tag (about 1″x1/2″) that I can see through the sound hole, with a hand written number 620. Is that a quantity number or a series number? This guitar is in excellent condition. If you have some information
you wish to share, please email me.

Herman Hauser Guitars range from 2000~ 12000 USD, depending on Hauser 1,2 or 3 and type of wood was used for the Back/Side.
Karh Hauser, depending on model, type of woods for top/back/side, if it mint condition it is worth from 700~3500$
Karl Hauser was cousin of the last Herman Hauser. His famous designs were Violin/Viola. There was time he exported a vast electric guitars with Hofner around the World. For Classical guitar, all his models were based on Hauser’s design

I am curious about the value of such a guitar. I actually have owned a Karl Hauser guitar since it wss given to me in 1970. It is in excellent condition – I am not much of a musician and it has been used relatively regularly but not heavily. I am planning on giving it to my daughter (who is a musician) and wonder what I am giving her.

I also found a Karl Hauser at a tag sale. It is a 730. I actually play it and it sounds great – but I have no idea if it has a value. I actually wouldnt part with it, but would like to find out if it is worth anything. I paid virtually nothing for it.
The 730 Model, does the back and side are Indian Rose wood ? If it is good condition, I am willing paying 700 euro
Thanks
I owned a Karl Hauser in the 1970s. It was a nice playing, nice sounding guitar. I am not sure, but I believe I heard someone claim that he was related to the Hermann hauser family. In spite of this, his guitars are not worth a whole lot. They are fairly wellmade, but are not considered investment quality instruments

I have an excellent condition, Karl Hauser series 730 for sale. Please email me if interested, [email protected]
I still, after 11 years since my posting, have not found a Model 830 Karl Hauser guitar. But I am impressed with all the responses and comments over the years so after many years of research, here is what I know about Karl Hauser.
I have owned many Karl Hauser guitars since 1970. A model 610 and two 730’s. The Karl Hauser label was distributed by Ideal Music Merchandising, N.Y.C. about 1965 to about 1983. The label included violins, cellos. violas and a limited number of other stringed instruments including electric guitars. All of these instruments were made by Hofner of West Germany. I
am sorry to report there was never a Karl Hauser and the name was selected to start a U.S.A. market for affordable instruments with a very famous name (Hauser of the famous Hermann Hauser family. Ambitious USA salesmen started a rumor that Karl was a distant and excentric cousin of Hermann Hauser and actually used tooling from the Hermann Hauser shop. I contacted Hermann Hauser III by e-mail and he denies any relation or has any information about Karl Hauser. Here is an approximation of what Karl Hauser guitars are worth today model series and price +/- 25% ……
Series 500 – $300.00 Series 600 – $400.00 Series 700 – $500.00 Series 800.00 – $600.00
Even though the Karl Hauser myth is disgraceful, the Karl Hauser (Hofner) guitars are exceptional, rare instuments. In 1979, I recorded “Classics for Classical Guitar” with a Karl Hauser model 730 which I purchased in 1970 and still own. The tone is
sweet and the bases are piano like. The guitar is 650 mm X 52 mm. Solid rosewwood back and sides, Engleman spruce top and African black ebony finger board. The rosette is real wood matrix and is outstanding. From Bach to Albeniz the Karl Hauser 730 was equally at home. I have some very expensive, concert grade guitars including a real Hermann Hauser II. Blind folded I would have great difficulty telling the two apart. The Karl Hauser is an exceptional guitar from a luthier who never existed. Myths are designed not to be outdone.
I recently purchased a Karl Hauser with no serial number in the inside label. I wanted to ask you if I could email you pictures directly to see if it might be a model 730 and I am only going by your description of your experience with the 730 model. Additionally, I looked at the pictures on Ebay that someone is selling a Karl Hauser and comparing the two, our model looks different. The wood of that guitar has a tiger pattern and the backside of the neck on the Ebay model is a single thread of wood, our guitar has 3 strips of inlaid wood running up the back. I am guessing that the wood is rosewood on the back and sides and do not know the top although it is a honey blonde color. I am attentively researching this because I bought this guitar for my son who plays classical guitar and he recently moved up to a full size guitar and this one presented itself in our search. My son has a smaller hand and felt immediately at home with the size of the fretboard and two professional guitarists that played it commenting on its beautiful piano tones.
If you would allow me I would like to send you pictures to see if you can help us identify the guitar. Thank you, Mary

I am looking for a classical guitar for someone’s Christmas. He said he was looking a guitar, and I think he said something like "J.C. Centaura" or some brand like that (I was trying to ask w/out making him suspicious). He said it was around $850. Does anyone know what kind of guitar he may have been talking about? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I’m a classical guitarist, but I find that full size guitars I have used are too big, I really need a 3/4 one. Do you think that these would be made comercially, or would I need to get one made specifically for me? I’m not too concerned about quality, as I am only 18 and still really learning, I have really only been playing for 8 years.. any thoughts would be helpful..
