Early Yamaha electric

I have a Yamaha electric I'd like to know a little more about. I bought it in England in 1984. The guy who sold it to me said it was "a prototype for the SG2000" adn that only 12 like it had been made. I sent some photos and the serial number to the Wada factory in Japan. They wrote back to tell me it was an SG-175 made in 1976. I subsequently wrote back for more information, and have done so a couple of other times over the years, but never got any more replies. No one I have ever spoken to has ever heard of a Yamaha SG-175 and the internet seems not to have any info on one either. Anyone know anything about the guitar? Ryan.
