I've had NO trouble whatever with my roadie rench string cutter. It even trims my bass string ends quite well. Howard, you must need to tighten the bolt or something cause mine kicks ass and murders the end of a string. The Rench has saved my butt time and time again while gigging. Also works great on my Strat saddles, etc. Basically, it's a pretty damn handy tool to have in your guitar case. I HIGHLY recommend it!
