That's a Jackson Browne song. Nico did it on the Royal Tennanbaums soundtrack (a pretty cool soundtrack album by Mark Mothersbaugh). I read an interview of Jacksons recently where he said he liked her version, guess you and Jackson are in the same camp. Check out his version on his second album, "For Everyman", You will be blown away. David Lindley's lap steel solo is heartfelt and devestating. That record is one of the best pieces of music to come out of the 70's.
