The guitar wasn't Jeff's. When he came to New York he made friends with someone and they lent him the guitar. After Jeff tragically passed away the guitar was returned to that person.

According to FenderEurope's website, the guitar was "a stock early-nineties blonde Telecaster®," which was brand new when Jeff got loaned it, not a 1959 at all.

: jeffs tele was a 1983- 84 standard usa tele, it had the toploader bridge with no holes in the back of the body, particular to these models
