  4. "FILL ME IN" CHORDS HERE

(I posted this below as a follow-up, but found a couple of small errors which are theoretically, heheh, fixed here)

I’ve seen like a million request all over for tab, but nobody ever posts any, so I hope I’m not breaking any rules posting it here, but anyhow, here’s "Fill Me In" as best I can figure it out…this is my first timne posting, so I hope it comes out in a useable fashion 🙂

The song sounds like its played capoed at the second fret at standard tuning/440, 3rd fret at usual acoustic tuning/420. All positions are relative to the capo, not the nut.

Fraser has a lot of right-hand work going on, plays without a pick on this, and has a LOT of pinky action too for all the little fills, etc. So just play with it and relax and I think this is pretty close.

Chords used (probably not correct names, but as close as I can get guessing at what chord form I break to get to them)

    I) Am7
    II) Am7sus
    III) Em7
IV) Em (or E7, or E-E)
    V) F+E(high)

    General progression
    I-IV I-II-III-V
    1 3 1 & & 4

The little hammer-on high note is at 1-3 then down to 1-1

    Em7/Em/E+E mute
    1) 0

aaaaaaahhhh you guys and this song you all have been bugging for it so here we go there are 4 chords through the whole song and took me a little time to solve this puzzle because the bass line is impossible to play unless…you utilize your thumb so the chord sequence you must follow is….
    Cmin7- 3 Gmin7- 3 Cmin/G# -3 Bflatmaj-1
    4 3 4 3
    3 3 5 3
    5 3 5 3
    3 5 x 1
    x 3 4(thumb) x

Hope this does the trick and yall can figure out the one hammer on he does on the Gmin7 hammer your second finger onto the second string at the fourth fret….Tell me how this works out
    Tim

Her mind is Tiffany twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the captain; "Please bring me my wine."
"We haven’t had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night, just to hear them say

      CHORUS (with ending 2)

Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the master’s chambers, they gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can’t kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax" said the nightman, "We are programmed to receive"
"You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave"

            WALSH 6-string acoustic, nylon string
            FELDER 6-string acoustic, nylon string

This is the intro. Frey plays the top chords shown in parentheses,

            More things start happening here.
Frey’s 12-string starts messing with picking patterns based around these chords:
            Am E7 G D9 F C Dm E7

Felder plays something similar the intro 12-string part with his 6-string, it’s found on
my Hotel California page. He doesn’t use a capo though.

Walsh plays this little thing after the first round of Felder’s part:

Here’s where the vocals come in. The lyrics can be found here.
Felder and Frey keep doin’ what they’re doin’, and Walsh sits
around and acts bored for the first verse. During the second
verse (There she stood…), Walsh plays the foreground acoustic
part. It is very similar to what’s found in the electric version
here, except Walsh slides the chords instead of bending them.

Once we get to the chorus, Frey plays these chords:
            F C D7 Am F C Dm E
            Felder plays this:
            G D F# "Fill 2" D Em F#

Walsh plays Fill 1, 2, and 3. If you listen, they are easy to hear:

Once we get to the "So I called up…" verse,
Walsh again plays the verse slides. When we get to the second
chorus, everyone plays the same thing again except for Walsh.
Walsh does: Fill 3, 2, and 4 (in that order).

During the "Mirrors on the ceiling" verse, Frey does the
same picking that he did in the intro, and Felder does the 7th-fret stuff again.
Walsh is bored until the "Last thing I remember…" verse, where he plays this,
and it leads into the solo:
