Burn for you request......again!

I guess this is becoming the proverbial needle in a haystack - I'm after an accurate tab of "Burn for you" from John Farnham's 'Chain Reaction' album.

I have tried the Lee F. Wilhemsen version and it isn't quite right - he tabbed his from the 'Full House' album and misses quite a bit in my opinion.

Anyone fortunate to have the original sheet music or a personal tab that's accurate please? Looking forward to hearing from you.

Re: Burn for you request......again!

John's guitarist, Brett Garsed, has the tabs that he plays (slightly different from Phil Buckle) on his website: http://www.brettgarsed.com/index2.html

I see this is some time after you were looking for it, but I hope that's helpful.

cheers
Brett

Re: Burn for you request......again!

jon, if you're that fucking pedantic, why dont you just figure it out yourself you lazy ? you know, i dont mean to sound rude, but if you're able to play it as perfectly as the dude who plays it so you can actually tell the difference, surely you can figure out the minor additions that Lee f. Wihemsen missed out on. wouldn't you agree jon?

MotorAce - Keeping Secrets

Hi Anyone out there with the chords to MotorAce - Keeping Secrets plz email me.

Re: MotorAce - Keeping Secrets

hey, i figured these out yesterday, sounds pretty right to me.

all chords are bar chords.
G# is 4th fret, A# 6th fret, D# 6th fret, Cm 3rd fret, G 3rd fret.

intro: G#, A#, Cm, G (over the top of the solo bit)

verse: G#, A#, Cm, D#

"you're keepin secrets, there's only one i need to find...." bit: G#, A#

chorus:
D#, G#, A#.
Cm, G#, A#.
Cm, A#, G#, D#

"keeping secrets..." bit

intro

verse

"keeping secrets..." bit

chorus

"keeping secrets..." bit

bridge: A#, D#, G# twice

"keeping secrets..." bit

intro to end.

solo:
first note: pluck once bent, then reverse bend then bend a few times on B string, 11 fret
second note: reverse bend then bend a few times on G string 10 fret
second note on last run: reverse bend and bend on hi E string, 13 fret.

hope this helps dude! this is a wicked song! you shuold get a friend to play the intro chords so you can listen to teh solo to get the bends exactly right. it takes a bit of practice!

cheers

Tuning Open C - C G C G C E

Listen to the intro, there are parts that need a little palm muting and there
are some dead notes to hit as well as the notes in this tab.
This is just a basic intro to get you started. After you can play this you'll
be able to get it sounding more like the CD version.

Intro -
palm mute a bit

VERSE
-\ indicates slide

This is the basic riff

E-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7
C-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7
G-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7
C-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7
G-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7
C-\7-7----\10-10----\5-5----\7-7

There are little licks and stuff that he plays but I haven't had time to
work 'em out.

The Don't want to be a thorn in your side bit is like

E-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5
C-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5
G-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5
C-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5
G-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5
C-\3-3-3----\10-10-10----\5-5-5-5-5-5

That's about all the different riff 'n stuff there is a huge ass solo but I
don't have time to write it/work it out so just have some fun playing your
own.

Tabbed by - Hamish, hashbrown_@hotmail.com.au <mailto:hashbrown_@hotmail.com.au>

here is the solo to betterman because I know a lot of people requested it.
This tab also includes the six-string lap-steel solo, played by Rory, but I
only have a regular 4-string so thats what i tabed it on, it still sounds
right.

Tuning-John plays this in CGCGCE, but i find it easier to play in CGCGCC.
Just my personal preference. Having siad that though, the solo is probably
wrong, but im 13, so lay off.
This solo is played with a slide

When doing the 18th fret slide slid go down to about the 10th fret, and also
when you doing the slide down from the 18th fret pick the G and C strings
like this
C--p-p-p---------- when p stands for pick
G-p-p-p-----------

C-18\------------18\-----------18\--------------------------------------
C-18\----12--12--18\----12--12-18\----12--12--12-12/10--10-10/12-12--12-
G-18\-/12--12----18\-/12--12---18\-/12--12--12---12/10-10--10/12---12---
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------------------------------------
C-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im a bit sketchy on this part
C----------------------------------------------------------
C-18\-----------18\----------12/----14/12/10-10-/10/12-12/-
G--------12--12-------12--12-----/12-----------------------
C-----/12-12-------/12--12---------------------------------
G----------------------------------------------------------
C----------------------------------------------------------

Now you hear this big sliding sound and a lot of rattle and the lap-steel
bass
solo somes in. I just use a standard bass in standard tuning with it on my
lap and with a slide.
