: Hi
: I have a J. Watson and Co. acoustic guitar that I am trying to learn the “provenance” or history of and hope someone may know something about it, or point me in the direction of someone who does. It looks identical to a Kiso Suzuki acoustic made around 1973 with great pearl inlay on the head and on the fret-board. The protective plate on the top has definite "flower-power connotations. The inside label says
: · J.Watson & Co
: · Est.1951
: · The best quality guitar
: · model no. WD150D - BK
: · made in Japan

: It plays beautifully, better than many contemporary, high priced guitars. A Dutch guitar "collector" indicates that there is some link with Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, which I guess could make it a collectible. Any info that you can give me would be appreciated.

Greetings everyone;
I am on a mission to find my long lost (stolen) J.Watson & Company guitar. I was in the Houston area about 10 years ago or so, and had just unloaded the van, went inside w/equipment, came back out and the guitar w/case was gone.
This one was special. Purchased in Taiwan in '76, it has a split/tri rosewood back with inlayed mother of pearl, with mother of pearl inlays all throughout the guitar. What makes this one easy to find, is that the neck had been broken by our lead singer between the tuning keys. It had been repaired, but could still be noticed if looking.
Please help me find this sentimental piece of the past.
Thanks, James.
