I have an old Hayashi "Mountian Folk" acoustic guitar! It looks like a "Martin" standard dreadnought; it has a spruce hard top with elaborite alblone pearl inlays around the contour, and great inlays on the fret board. I just wanted to know what happened to this Japanese company who made such a beautiful and great sounding guitar?

What kind of an asshole would say the bass was worth between $200 and $250? I will give you $1500 for it if it is in good shape and original, and to be honest you might be able to get more. the new stingray bass remake that came out is in the 1700.00 range, so if its in good condition, im sure you could get a better price than 250.00. plus i would want an original from 1976 more than a remake

I had a Kahler tremolo with locking nut installed on my 1979 Fender Stratocaster during 1983. I hate it. The problem with replacing it is that the body had t be routed to install the Kahler. Can you suggest a replacement bridge (trem) that would cover the hole completely, work well (as well as a fender stock unit) and not have a locking unit at the nut. Any alternatives ? Also, the locking nut necessitated the installer to remove the "bullet" truss rod cover. Is there a way to get an orig bullet cover and install it properly ? Please advise. Thanks Frank Mascia ([email protected])
-
July 8, 2003 at 10:59 am #109182AnonymousGuest
i don’t know about finding a unit to cover the hole… but if you’re looking at non-locking trems, you can’t beat wilkinson and hipshot trems. also, if you don’t want a locking nut, try locking tuners, grover, schaller, and most importantly sperzel.

I recently aquired a Framus Electric Guitar in a will from german relative. It seems to be old and it needs parts…can’t find any…anywhere. It was made in West Germany and the serial # is 5-2046 73x (it looks like an "x") This number is on the neck behind the tuner. I was wondering what year and model guitar I have. I was told the tuners are solid silver because the dead give away tarnishing and they seem to be very old. Again assuming this guitar was customized: I’d like to hear any guesses no matter how vauge… Thanks. Larson

Your guitar is a 1973 as indicated by the serial number, the space and the 73. That’s the way Framus used to assign their serial numbers (found it on a blue book web site)

Has anyone heard about the American Music Awards contest where you can enter your music and if they pick you you get to perform live on the AMAs? I just entered my band Circe’s Smile so look for us on TV! Suckas! Seriously, it looks like a great opportunity for unsigned bands to make a big noise. Notice that by entering you give away any rights to the music you submit, ie they can steal your original music and nothing you can do about it. Hi iv got a heartfield, 24 fret rosewood fret board, round pearl inlays, with dual dimarzio humbuckers and a single, floyd rose bridge, just like tyhe rest of the talons i see, but it is only marked heartfield on the head stock while the others are marked heartfield talon or fender talon. Is it a talon, talon II or III?

What you have is an earlier version of the Talon before it was owned by Fender. The Heartfirld CO. was a japanese Co. that made these in the mid 80’s, If you only have Heartfield on the headstock, then you have the original model or the model 1. They usually had a Kahler spyder trem and 2 dimarzio original humbucker. Congrats, IT’S RARE

May 27, 2003 at 8:41 am #45545AnonymousGuest
Right now I’m looking for a nice shred guitar with a $400-$600 budget. My current guitar is an Epiphone Les Paul, which I still love, but I need something with a little more soloing freedom. I’m also looking for something with the H-S-H pickup setting and a nice tremolo system. Recently, I went to my local Guitar Center and played both the S470DX and the RG1570 Prestige and loved both. I liked having 24 frets on the RG, but also the sound and overall feel on the S. I’m still not sure what I’m interested in, but leaning towards the S. If there was only an S with 24 frets! Well I just wanted to ask for the opinion of fellow guitarists, please let me know what you think. Thanks!
-
August 11, 2003 at 9:57 am #89797AnonymousGuest
Go for the S man, what the hell do you need the 24th fret for anyway? if you need it, just bend a whole step up from the 22nd fret. Besides the S has much better quality. The ZR bridge is totally badass; a very valuable innovation that is taking trem bridges to another step.
-
August 19, 2003 at 3:29 am #90405AnonymousGuest
I havent tried that RG, but did play a S470DX today. I was looking to spend about £800, including part exing my Gordon Smith SG2. I thought the S looked much sexier than the whole pointed RG thing, and tested it against a £750 Jackson Soloist, and bought the S cos it outranked the Jackson. The S just begged to be played, and that new trem stays in tune better than anything I have ever played. In short, BUY IT NOW!

Hi. I’d really appreciate it if someone could give me some details about a second hand tele I just bought. Its a Japanese Squier, has a White Blonde finish, single ply black scratch plate (5 screws), maple neck, Gotohs. The ser. no. is K030545. My questions are: What year was it made? Why isn’t it strung through the body? (and is it worth modifiying this aspect) Is it a Fifties re-issue of some kind? (certainly looks like one) What is the body material? I’d be grateful for any info. Cheers and happy playing.

I don’t know the serial numbers but I think it’s probably made from basswood although the Japs did use ash after the mid 90’s sometimes.

I thought so to untill I got this one (very cheap second hand). Its got a Duncan at the neck but is other wise stock and I use all pickup options. I’m telling you man; I crank it through a Blues Jnr and it just cuts. I’d recommend it – a good solid, ‘all there’ guitar.

I have recently bought an old Ibanez. I was told that it was originally purchased in 1976. It looks like an Artist Ibanez because its a double cut-away with four buttons in the same configuration as Les Paul buttons. But unlike the Artist series mine has single coiled pickups instead of humbuckers. It looks just like the one Jimmy Page uses on the new LEDzEP dvd on the songs "White Summer" and "In my time of Dying". Please Please Please can someone tell me if its any good because I need to know if I made the right decision!!

: i’m having problems with my standard mexican strat and i keep reading and hearing about how much more superior the american strats are. i would like to hear from people who have played both guitars frequently and maybe you could tell me from experience what the major differences are between the two. pete, the mexican strats are good sounding and quality for the money. some cuts are taken to lessen costs. on the american, the hardware is typically better and the wood used for the body is better grade. the frets on the mexican are smaller which effects playability otherwise, the cost difference is hard to justify.

: : i’m having problems with my standard mexican strat and i keep reading and hearing about how much more superior the american strats are. i would like to hear from people who have played both guitars frequently and maybe you could tell me from experience what the major differences are between the two. First, what "problems" are you having? Strats made in America have certain problems associated with them as well. I agree with the previous post. I have a new Mexican Strat, having owned and American and Japan Reissue model, I’ll say this: I upgraded the pickups only because of the hum that all Strats have, including American models. Other than that, maintenance and adjustments make your Mexican Strat a good quality instrument. Put some Chapstic under the string tree using a toothpick. Also buy some Lock Ease-it’s an oil/graphite lube available at most hardware stores. Put a drop in each nut slot as needed. This will keep the strings sliding nicely when using the tremolo. I have zero complaints on this guitar having set it up properly. If you are hesitant to do adjustments of the truss rod, bridge, etc., it’s well worth having a good technician do it for you-you’ll be amazed at how nice your strat can play! I like mine better than the American I once owned. Charlie

Can someone tell me why my pickup in my CC 057 nylon string ovation is picking up sound from the first string (bottom) up to the fifth string, but the top string is very soft. I made an attempt to remove the pickup. It seems that a sorta plastic strip with six individual smaller pickups(I presume) with a thin copper strip underneath is encased by a thicker copper casing, when I plug the guitar into my amp and tap the pickup throughout(the thick copper casing) I get a softer sound up at the bass string. After re-stringing I can hardly hear the top string at all Any help here will do Thanx

Hi. Does anyone know where one can buy used guitar parts, parts guitars and used guitars at a reasonable price whether singly or in lots? My hobby is repairing guitars and giving them away or selling them cheap so I don’t want to pay a lot for the parts. I am in the Buffalo, NY area. Thanks.

I have a guitar that was found in my attic recently. It does not have designer name on it. It only has the model number G 101. It is light brown or tan on the front with a design with a black patch. It kind of resembles a Martin guitar, but I don’t think so. If you could give me any information, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Impossible to fight through all the popups, and looking at the # of replies to posts it’s obvious no one else does. Guess this is just another spam trap. Anyone who want answers and content don’t waste your time here fighting popups only to post a question that will receive no response, just go to harmonycentral.com or wholenote.com.

That sucks, I had it too, I got one of those brace things and wore it at night for awhile and it helped, but it still comes back especially after playing hard for days at a time. Stretching helps, and warming up till everything loosens up, I used to warm up on the first song or two but after years now I have to before hand or my speed just isn’t up to par… the best thing is not playing, if you have a couple of days between shows don’t play or just practice sparingly and pay attention to your technique…holding that guitar down low is gonna make it even worse. The bad news is it’s not going to go away, and will probally get worse, all you can really do now is try to keep it from getting worse. But hey alot of people have it and still rock, so keep playing, just take steps to minimize it. : someone please help. i have developed tendonitis or carpel tunnel in my left fretting wrist. i play both bass and guitar and i am in terrible pain and have gigs to play. can someone direct me to a source of info that could help. : thx.

Hi Whats the pain pinching slight? The tunnel will lead to numbness in the thumb pointer and middle fingers. the nerves for the pinki and ring finger don`t go threw the tunnel . I thought I had old tunnel but it`s tendinitus I don`t think I spelled that right LOL Please get pro help or you won`t be able to play no more they look at how you play hold your guitar they stop me from doing more damage. The other reply strecth strecth was right . David, We guitarists use and depend on our hands quite an awful lot. It’s important to stretch before you play, and warm up before you play for extended periods. Also, there are products you can buy that contain glucosamine and condrioten (sp) which contains vitamins and minerals that are very good for your joints. But do stretch before you play. You want to play for as much of your life as possible, right? Regards.

If you’re an Eric Johnson fan, I would definitely recommend checking out his new album, Souvenir. It has a bunch of unreleased and obscure tracks that Eric took from a number of sources – in my opinion, it really provides a new and welcome perspective on Eric’s writing and playing…very cool!! One catch though: It’s only available on the Internet so you have to visit http://www.ericjohnson.com for more info (I promise it’s worth the effort).

: any one know what sort of price the cyber twin amps range from or any links where in can look please thanks for the help I think U.K. is £1200+pedal board I would imagine the U.S. price would be $1200-$1400. Also if go to the Fender website you can watch a video stream of a one hour promo that shows you how they made it and how to get the various sounds from it. But in opinion if you try one get a good valve amp, with a similar price tag, and sit it next to it when you try it from comparison. You will see how bland they really are. I think they only really have one sound and everything is a variation on that. To me they sound very thin and weak. They could be ok for bedroom playing, but if you played a gig you would soon notice the difference between a cyber twin and a real amp. Hope this helps Stebzy

Which is the best, or is there another one that is better? thomas- i am not sure of the model numbers, but concentrate on solid top if sound is an issue over looks. i recently sold a g-series with a solid top it was plain, no frills as far as looks. dreadnought body, and didnt even have dot inlays on the fingerboard. it had a satin (no lacquer finish)but played and sounded beautifully. very nice looking guitar without the price tag or fancy markings. great value. this was not an electric acoustic however, with the money you save on the model, you could stick an after market pick up on it. good luck

The h1215 in the model number tells me that this is a Harmony guitar. There is a date code stamped somewhere in the body that indicates the month and year of manufacture. I am guessing that this is a 1960’s model.

I have bought many at yard sales fo under $30.00 fixed and polished and sold for 100.00 to 300.00 dollars but I live near a guy that collects them and he has deep pockets. If it`s a color series these have color paterns such as blue with a white dimond or a USA flag these bring in the bucks. The F hole Models can be late 50`s to late 60`s. Good luck bick

I have a hand-made Classic nylon string quitar from Spain which I intend to sell. I have had it from new, about 25 years. It has golden "tuning pedal" (I don’t know the english words) and if I remember correct, there is also Ivory used. It was those times the most expensive modell in the seller’s selection. If someone is interested in it or knows more about the value, please let me know in [email protected] Guitar is in very good shape, but not 100% (not used last 20 years, kept in its hard case)

I have a 1968 Southerner Jumbo in good condition. Features include sunburst finish, bat wing pickguard, trapezoid neck inlays, and original tuners. Original metal bridge has been replaced with rosewood and bone bridge, which gives the guitar a better sound. What would this guitar be worth?

It has a fender humbucker and a duncan hot rail along with hipshot palm pedals. Anyone know who made these? I’d like to get another. Thanks!

Actually their called Hammer on’s and Pull off’s.Uhh,an example…instead of playing your Pentatonic scale by picking each note, you’d Hammer on the higher note with your pinky and Pull it off so the note held by the index finger is rung. Good Luck

I am using ROLAND GR30, but know this normal problem to play faston certain patches. So I would like to know which is the best guitar syth in the market now. Somebody please guide.
-
May 21, 2003 at 11:11 pm #86350AnonymousGuest
if you want something with no tracking problems, you need something analog. digital modelers like roland/boss/etc. stuff won’t cut it. the only problem is, if you’re expecting to get sounds of different instruments out of the guitar, or need a bunch of patch settings saved, you’re usually out of luck. however if you want weird noises or analog synth tones, you’d do best to pick up a couple of moogerfooger pedals (www.moogmusic.com) as they are basically an analog synth broken down into pedal form with a guitar input instead of a keyboard, or something a bit more exotic like a sherman filterbank. i have the moogerfooger ring mod and low pass filter, and have no problem whatsoever with note tracking or string to string definition because they’re analog filters, not digital samples.

I owned one from the early 70’s to 1995. Like a Damned idiot in a fit of depression I sold it to a pawn shop for about 60 dollars. I did not know they go for 500 to 800 on ebay. These were higher end student guitars, small body, narrow neck. Mine had sunburst finish, some dot inserts on neck, Had rosewood finger board, very narrow neck. Fiberboard case. Cannot be more specific..but I miss that guitar. I found a B-15 on ebay very similar but less refined. These guitars come ocasionally on ebay for sale and other places, but are somewhat overpriced. There are a zillion new guitars but I still long for my old B-20. (B-20 was stamped visible in sound hole).

just bought a gibson howard roberts. with switch in the middle position, either volume control will turn the volume completely off. Guitar center says this is normal. My gibson knock off epiphone lets you turn the neck or the bridge completly off. How do these volume knobs normally behave?
-
May 20, 2003 at 11:58 pm #86327AnonymousGuest
guitarelectronics.com have two gibson circuits which give you the chosen effect simply by moving two wires on each volume control ie. either volume act as master with switch in centre or each volume works independently with switch in centre.

-
June 2, 2003 at 7:40 pm #86807AnonymousGuest
It sounds like you either cut the slots too deep or too wide. The 3 bass strings should be higher off the fretboard than the 3 treble strings. I’m a custom guitar builder in PA and I usually setup my guitars at about .016" (1/64) of an inch higher than the first fret and make small adjustments from there. The slots should have a round bottom and be no more than .003" wider than the string. The slot should also be angled back from the front of the nut towards the tuners so that they only contact the nut at the front edge. Polish the slots or you might have problems staying in tune. Good luck!

: I have been playing for about a year, and I am ready to buy an amp for my Washburn acoustic electric. Which will sound better, a solid state amp designed specifically for an acoustic, or a tube amp not necessarily designed for an acoustic? It all depends on what you want, and what you want to do. I don’t claim to be an expert in this field as I can only go on my own experience I had a Mesa Boogie DC5 all valve amp and my Yamaha CPX-5 electro acoustic sounded wonderful through it, no problems at all. Plus it gave me the most awesome rock sound. So if your going to play electric and acoustic stuff at a gig this is a great compromise. As you will only need one amp, and in my experience you will get tired of humping around two amps. If your only playing acoustic stuff then go for a dedicated acoustic amp, as these will have more features suitable to acoustic guitars. Hope this helps Stebzy

Definately an acoustic amp,I use an Ibanez Troubador 225 and it’s great,I’ve opened shows for Project Lo, Gongzilla and more and it’s great for small settings also (hey check out LoLo records)but in reverse of a good elec. gtr. amp you can’t play a elec gtr. through it only acoustic w/ its pickups…

I have two Marshall JTM30 amps (one with a single 12" Celestion Heritage speaker, the other with two 10" speakers — same brand), both of which need repair. There are differing opinions as to which tubes offer the best sound. I’m looking for a nice, smooth, 60s’-style distortion and sustain. However, I’d also like to use them in clean mode once in a while. Any and all suggestions welcome.

I’d like to learn how to adjust the neck of my guitar myself. Would you have any tips. Symptoms: B string is staring to buzz, and is in tune open, but is out of tune when for example playing D.

There can be alot of things wrong with your neck such as a need for fret work, nut work (or replacement) or a bridge (intonation and/or height) adjustment. Assuming these are OK, there should be a slight dip, about .008", at the 7-9th fret area to allow clearance for the strings to vibrate. In other words there should be more space between the strings and the frets in this area than at the first few frets. This is called "Neck Relief". This is about all I can tell you without more info. By the way, I’m a custom guitar builder in PA.

Chords of verse seem to be Gminor , E flat, F major. Guitar tuning seems slightly flat but not down to E flat tuning. Chorus would be C minor, F , B flat, G minor and repeat. I think most of the chords are implied during the verse, with the bass notes. The guitar seems to drone on just two notes most of the time. This song is amazing in its simplicity yet difficulty to reproduce. He may be using a weird tuning to help. I am interested in any one else’s help.

: Not enough info. What kind? Electric? Acoustic?Your best bet is to seek out an experienced player in your area/town and get them to show you. Once you do it, it is easy, but it is just as easy to not do it right and mess things up/waste a new set of strings. I would do it for you, but I charge a million dollars

Hi, I had an old Lotus Telecaster for years (at least 15 and I bought it used!). It was my first electric. I have since passed it on to my cousin, who decided to mess with both the rod and bridge, and now expects me to be able to fix it for her. I understand the concept behind adjusting the bridge (tune, play 12th fret, if not in tune, adjust), but she has managed to strip the screws that adjust it. Also, the neck has been adjusted, and I’m not really sure how to fix that. ANy tips or suggestions on how to undo the damage? Thanks!

: Hi, u have to ajust the truss rod with an allen key
-
June 2, 2003 at 8:05 pm #86791AnonymousGuest
Hi, You can get replacement screws for the bridge from Allparts Music (www.allparts.com). The neck should be adjusted so that it has about .008" of relief, or extra clearance between the 7th & 9th frets (called relief). The bridge height is usually adjusted at the same time since they effect the action of the guitar together. Intonation is best done with an electronic tuner. Even an inexpensive one ($9.95) is better than nothing. If the truss rod adjustment is where the neck bolts to the body, you’ll have to remove the neck to adjust it. By the way, I’m a custom guitar builder in PA. Good luck!

I’m interested in learning to play the guitar, but have no idea where to start in finding the right accoustic for me. I have looked at a few models, but I keep coming back to the same problem: I’m small. I have small arms and small hands. It is uncomfortable for me to reach around the body of a regular sized guitar, and it is almost impossible for me to reach around the neck of regular sized guitars. I’m also hoping to not spend a lot of money on this, as it will be my first guitar. Does anyone know of a dependable, low priced guitar that is built for a smaller person, and isn’t built for a child? Thanks in advance.

I am looking for someone who can send me some cool presets. You are supposed to be able to download them from the rocktron website, but they are not compatible with the chameleon 2000, only the older models. I am new to midi and multi effect units and would like a sample of presets that others have created, or even a complete dump. thanks!!

I would like to wire an Esquire-like guitar, with a three way lever switch. Positions are: – the pickup with the volume pot and the tone pot – the pickup with the volume pot, the tone pot, and a resistance of 6k – the pickup with the volume pot, the tone pot, and a resistance of 10k I’ve got the standard Esquire wiring (With just a resistance of 3,3k ->HJ), so I would like to know if someone can help me for the new wiring. Which wire have I to take away or add for this wiring ? Do I need a condenser to ? Thanks, O.

How do you calculate the RMS and peak wattage that a speaker cab can take? I.E. I have four speakers rated at 75 watts in my cab. It is running at 8 ohms. Two sets of speakers in series, then both sets hooked up to the input parallel. How many watts can I give it and how do I calculate them? Any help would be apprciated.

GET IT SERVICED!! As you may know, you CAN’T just pull off the strings and slap new ones on there. There’s a certain way to it,so the string tensions match and stabilize tuning. I usually change one string at a time, starting with the low E string. Good Luck

Sound a bit stupit but what is a baritone Guitar ?
-
June 2, 2003 at 8:12 pm #86774AnonymousGuest
Hi, A baritone guitar is halfway between a standard guitar and a bass guitar. It ususally has a scale or string length of 27 or 28" and is tuned a fourth below a standard guitar. I’m a custom builder in PA and I build them (as well as anything else you want) to order. They have a beautifully resonant and distinctive sound.

Amps all I know is that one of them uses a JMP Marshall and the other some sort of Orange amp. Can you please fill in the other details regarding their amps and gear?

The problem is I have no idea what I’m talking about when it comes 2 an elctric. Whats a Humbucker, Whats a Seymore Dunkan Pickup and whats the difference?

i am wanting to buy a new humbucker for my washburn dimebolt 333 and was thinking about the sh-5. i am wanting something with a very nice clean tone and sustain and when i hit the distortion it must sound good also, but i am wondering is there any other pickups out there that people might recommend that are better or prefer
-
May 6, 2003 at 1:30 pm #85708AnonymousGuest
You’re very close ZAK. Of course pickups are a subjective thing, but I can tell you this: 6 of my 16 guitars have the SH-6 in the bridge position…this is not by accident.
-
May 4, 2003 at 10:23 pm #85538AnonymousGuest
You’ve made a good choice.Output is approx. 14k ohms.I love the tone, even when they get old.Eddie V. used these pickups back in the day.Check Guitar World mag. ’80-’81.

What santana se 2001 model plays better the U.S. One, or the Korean one? , where can i find the best price?
-
May 23, 2003 at 5:54 pm #108157AnonymousGuest
Darrell, US quality is first. As for price, you really do get what you pay for, with some exception. Go ouyt to ebay or to http://www.instrumentexchange.com/search.asp?pid=41&catid=131&scatid=496. You’ll quickly get a good idea about what is fair. Be sure to note precise model #, country of origin, year, and any damage to the instrument. Unlike cars or other expensive products, guitars hold their value rather well (or even appreciate) if they have not been abused. Happy playin!

I bought mine about 3 months ago. I bought it so I could play at any hour and not bother anyone. Plus, I was intrigued by the online content. I currently have a subscription to the on-line service but it would be worth having even if you don’t want to fork out the $8 a month. The first 2 weeks I had it I was up till 2 in the morning every night playing with this thing even though I had to be at work every morning. I haven’t got this much use out of a guitar product in a long time. I also have a Digitech RP300. It’s a good practice tool too but the amp models on the Guitarport blow away the Digitech. The Digitech thing does have some fun effects and an expression pedal that works with them such as the YaYa and the Wammy. The guitar port has all of the basic effects. And they sound pretty good. This is a very good way to learn about how different effects work and sound without spending $1000 on pedals to find out. Anyway, song selection on the web site is a little thin but enough to keep me busy for the time being. If you can find songs you like that are transcribed online, this thing cuts your learning curve by orders of magnitude. Then once you learn the song, it’s super cool to be able to play along with just the backing tracks. I also love to rip my CDs into the thing and play along. Can’t crank the stero and the amp a 1:00 AM. The tone library is hit or miss for me. Sometimes they sound pretty close, other times not even close. In any case, I’ve always been able to manually tweak one of the amp models to my satisfaction for any song. I have a Fender American Standard Strat and Epiphone Les Paul that I use, and they both sound great through this thing. My only amp right now is a 20 year old Crate G60-GT. I have a hard time listening to it after using the Guitar Port. In any case, I use the thing every day and have not regretted the purchase. Can’t say the same for the Digitech RP300.

Hi folks, I own a Gibson Les Paus Custom 1960 that is supposed to be ’roundabout 8 years old. So following the Gibson page it should have a serial number with 8 digits. but on the back of its head it only has 5 numbers. It looks like this: 4 30XX – There is a space between the first two numbers. Can anyone please tell me, why it looks like this and how to read it? Thank you

: Hi folks, : I own a Gibson Les Paus Custom 1960 that is supposed to be ’roundabout 8 years old. It looks like this: 4 30XX – There is a space between the first two numbers. Can anyone please tell me, why it looks like this and how to read it? : Thank you Your Les Paul is a 1994 model. The 8 digit serial numbers are correct for most madels, but on the Classics and Heritage models, the 4 digit number is used to replicate the serial number scheme from the 50’s and early 60’s. Example: I actually owned a 1959 Les Paul Std, S/N; 9-0931. The first digit (9)indicating the last digit of the model year (1959), and the last four digits indicating the sequential serial number for that year’s production run. By this formula, you find that your Les Paul is 1994 Classic. This is also supports your estimate that your guitar is about 8 years old. I have a friend with a 1989 58 reissue korina Flying V with the same vintage type 5-digit serial number scheme (9-XXXX).

They made them for more than one year is about all I have found out. I also would like to know what kind of Burstbuckers are in my Gary Moore model. They seem to have less output, so I’m guessing that they are #1 and 2, but I could be wrong. Jim Boda

HISTORIC ’50s SOLIDBODIES, EXAMPLE: 7 1001 (1957 Goldtop) -the first digit represents the year being reissued (1957) -the 2nd digit represents the year the guitar was made (2001) -the remaining 3 (or sometimes 4) digits represent the guitar’s place in the sequence of ’50s solidbodies produced that year.
