You have to check this out!!!! I just found this website in a guitar newsgroup, and they have an E-book that you
can buy for $1.00 until some time in May or something like that.

I got it and I have to say for the most part it's awesome! There is a chapter on sweep picking which I'm not into,
but the chapters before that are incredible. Now I have understanding of playing cleanly.

I have been playing for a long time, and this is information that I have never been exposed to. You have to get it.
