How true is this?

I´ve been told that Mesa Boogie amps are of great quality, but often don´t manage to withstand the test of being on the road. In other words, they get messed up quite often. I would like to know this, since I am considering getting myself one. I was thinking about the nomad series, or the roadking. Any advice, suggestions or comments I would appreciate. Thanks
