In Reply to: How can I get a Kahler Tremolo for Strat? HELP! posted by Victor Rodriguez Batista on May 30, 2001 at 17:55:35:
: I am looking for a floating tremolo for Strat with locking system.
: Let me be understood. With "locking system" I mean that when you allow to fall the lever, the bridge is blocked and it doesn't oscillate with the stretching taken place when you bend the strings on the frets with the left hand. The bridge is unblocked again if we catch (take up) the lever, becoming in floating another time.
You need the Kahler "Steeler". The arm locks the tailpiece [bridge] becoming a hardtail in the down position, becomes a traditional locking tremolo in the up position. Kahler stopped making them, but Zion uses them on their guitars, and has them instock, but not for sale unless on a guitar. Bummer!
