Intrumental surf music

: Hi everybody. : The past few months I've been learning a little instrosurf (dick dale, the ventures, link wray, the chantays, etc.). But a few things are missing. Could anybody tell me which song structures are used is surf, which chords and scales? Until now I've figured out that the 12 bar blues scale is used a lot, and 6th string bar chords. But I would like to advance a little, so any help would be very welcome.
