Glen: I installed a Wilkinson roller nut on my strat.
I followed the instructions on the location of the nut
and used a straight edge, razor knife, a medium and fine course file for straight edges. You have to be very carefull taking out the old nut and take your time and think before doing or you could really screw up your neck. I used a razor knife to take out my old
nut and slowly took it out in about 4 or 5 pieces. I
found that the nut was really attached well at the center location bottom of nut. Use the pre-existing
cuttout for the old nut as a guide to a nice square cuttout after you have cleaned up the remaining material from the old nut. Fortunately I did not have to use any shims for my nut because the string height was perfect so I lucked out. The secret is to take your time and don't treat your neck like a piece of construction material but more like a precision instrument.
