You didn't say what kind of guitar, or how you filed the frets, etc. How low is your action set at the 12th fret? What gauge of strings are you using? What tuning are you using? (standard or dropped?)
All these things affect string buzz. If you used a flat file on your frets you can expect a lot more buzzing (especially if the neck relief is too little and you've eliminated the crown of the frets).
You should also be aware that sometimes neck adjsutments require a short set period. You're dealing with wood and a metal rod when you make adjustments, which is why you need to do them
gradually. If your neck is too straight (without any relief) you'll have to set the action higher to eliminate buzzing.
