I've been trying to learn more about Goyas myself. I'd bet that the guitar you've got is a classical, which means that you have to put classical strings on it. Regular acoustic strings will damage it. As a rule, if the tuners stick back, it's a classical; if they stick out (like an electric), it's an acoustic. By the way, do you know if your mom bought the guitar new or used?

: my mom gave me her acoustic guitar from when she was in
: college.she bought this Goya guitar around 1980 and the
: serial # is 9601 it's still in almost perfect condition.
: what is an estimate value of this guitar. and what kind
: of strings would sound best with this (3 steel,3nylon)
: right now i have savarez on and they sound good but i
: want the greatest possible sound i can get out of this
: guitar.
: thanks for any help that you can offer me.
