Epi setup

I have a korina explorer that's giving me a headache with intonation. I seem to hear a faint undertone on some strings that I think is preventing me from getting this accurate. I think the neck needs to be adjusted forward. I think this is called relief? Has anybody messed with this, or ran into the same thing? I played an Epi L.P. that seemed to do the exact same thing. Any thoughts, ideas, comments? ...thanks
